Silverlake Coffee Co. is a terrific, cozy coffee shop to go to if you want to get your work done. There is ample parking and free wifi so you can bring your laptop over here for some serious business while drinking your favorite coffee or latte. Lastly, I love their drinks. I had mocha latte the first two times I was here and was simply impressed by the happy face decor they put on my latte. I will probably order other drinks the next time I return.

I used to come here often when I worked in the area. Their coffee was always good, but today I stopped by and order a large blended coffee which they didn't fill to the top... Instead just tried to hide it with a bunch of whipped cream when I just asked for a little. Kinda gross. I also ordered a sandwich and when it was given to me told me they put Swiss instead of Cheddar and hopped that was ok. I was standing right there the whole time they should have just asked me. Swiss is like the only cheese I dislike. When I went to eat to it there was like no cheese on it anyway - paid for the wrong cheese and little of it. I thought it was a rather poor showing today. I doubt I will be back. I try to support local, but I'll just head to Starbucks next time.

The prices are o.k. The location has convenient lot parking. The baristas are nice. The seating is ample and they have free wifi. The main detraction is the wild inconsistency in music. I can't just go from terrible top 40 to "Take a load off Annie" in and back to Enrique Iglesias like that. In fact, I can never go to Enrique. Please....Silverlake Coffee...never take me to Enrique ever again.

Bagels from Brooklyn bagels=cheap and so good. Wraps and salads are pretty cheap and very good, I get them to go often. Breakfast mediocre, bland. Mixed ice coffee is addictive and rich. Service can be very slow. Lots of conversations I don't need to hear behind the counter. Sometimes bordering inappropriate. But I go here a couple of times a week for my favorites.

I used their internet peacefully without any hiccups. They have FREE WIFI. The staff was pleasant and nice and they went out of their way to make a drink that is so exotic that I can hardly describe it. Good job Silverlake Coffee! Also, the PARKING is AWESOME. No issues there.

Not only do they have gangster rap playing at just the perfect noise level(loud enough so you could make out that it was indeed your favorite song, but quiet enough that studying could be done) the coffee was also excellent! The staff was all super friendly and I overheard a few of them having great conversations with some of the regulars. So, if you are looking for an excellent place to study, chill, have a DTR, talk about life or just drink excellent coffee and have the baristas know your name after the 2nd or 3rd time you go then this is the place for you.

I like this place! The food is tasty, light and healty, everything looks fresh and the meals are made for you at the moment. It is perfect for a study/work afternoon. The veggie begels/wraps are delicious, they came with a lot of avocado! I also enjoyed the banana blueberry smoothie. Tables outside are very nice, with good shadow and plugs available. The only minus is, sometimes, street noise (looks like a lot of trucks drive through Glendale boulevard!) Inside you can study/work on a lot of small tables and a few couch. Great music! The staff is nice too!

If you want to have an inquisitive conversation with a barrista about xanthan gum, this is most definitely the place to go. No, trust me, you'll be surprised at how much you already know, and how much you'll end up finding out. Aaaaaaand, if you want to come to a place often enough to entrench itself as a home away from home, this is not a bad place to choose. This place offers free parking in the lot that hugs itself around the coffee shop; which is a god send in free parking-starved Silver Lake. They offer free wi-fi and an area that features sofa-seating and a coffee table. I guess if you can't be home, and you have to go out for a night, might as well merge the comfort with the requirement, right? Right. I drink coffee, and I drink tea. While I'm not much of an authority on coffee, they have what appears to be a satisfactory amount of options, as my friend would point out. Myself, I was pleased with their selection of loose-leaf tea choices. They have your standard bleached tea bag variety, but why settle for that when you can opt for a more authentic taste that loose-leaf tea would allow for? They have the typical edible coffee shop fare -- bagels, ready made desserts, and simple sandwiches. Obviously one doesn't come to a coffee shop after a fasting period, so you can't expect much. If I could ask for anything is that they provide soup. By the end of the day, I was maxin' and relaxin' with a cup of loose-leaf tea, a good discussion on a variety of topics with a friend, and free wi-fi connection, of which we opted not to use in favor of a technology-free, conversation-laden night. Hey, remember those? And while I'm not really sure what I do that would qualify as maxin', the Silverlake Coffee Co serves as the evening's perfect bookend, if you were to decide to go to Rockaway Records, across the street. - Will

It seems like a decent place, although I didnt have a chance to try the coffee.. They require a minimum debit card purchase of $4, in which the coffee was $2.. They girl at the counter was very nice, and offered if I wanted to purchase anything else.. I just wanted coffee! That said, you try to support the little guys, and they push you back to Starbucks. Minimum purchase.. Are you kidding me

My new favorite place. I had the meat breakfast burrito and an iced carmel latte. Location is perfect, free wi-fi, animal friendly outside, and a great vibe from everyone who comes. A regular for me from now on.

Nice little coffee shop. Came in for breakfast, ordered a ham n cheese panini, came out nice and toasty and tasted good. The meat burrito was kinda soggy and quite bland. Good slection of iced coffees and teas. Nice outdoor patio area and free wi-fi.

Been going to Silver Lake Coffee for several years. Great coffee options, smoothies, sandwiches and breakfasts. Food is freshly prepared at ordering time. The staff is friendly and the music playlists are often times very cool. SLC is a local neighborhood, Mom & Pop business which is so refreshing in a world of chain coffee places. Keep up the good work, Larry!

I love everything about this place: the setting, the people, and the vibe. However, for a coffee shop nestled at ground zero of what is hip in Los Angeles, they really are lacking in the coffee department. I wish that they would source some decent beans and up their game. With an Intelligencia near by, not to mention Proof in Atwater (serving Four Barrel from SF), it's only a matter of time before they'll have to. Otherwise, it's a great place to hang out. The baristas are friendly and the food is tasty. As per usual, you'll find a dedicated school of iPhone users amidst the sea of mac Laptops.

Food and coffee here are pretty standard. The service is a major turn off. I prefer to support small businesses and would usually pick this place over Starbucks just down the street but it's really not worth being treated so badly. Especially first thing in the morning. Come on. Hire new counter girls. These ones suck.

Three years ago I would have given Silverlake Coffee five stars. The food is still as delicious as ever and I find myself Shazaam-ing like crazy every time I pay them a visit, but the ever-increasing popularity of this Silverlake stable has unfortunately been a blessing and a curse. It used to be my go-to for a nice spot to grab a coffee and work on my laptop for hours. It was easy to get a table inside and be able to spread out some papers. Now, the place is packed all day every day and you are lucky to get a shared table with a stranger - eachother's laptops stacked back-to-back. These days I think twice about visiting Silverlake Coffee when I need a quiet, chill place to get some work done. Most of the time I arrive, find no where to sit, and leave before buying anything. Oh, and a tip for the staff: It is nice to be recognized when one has been frequenting an establishment regularly for years. Some of you are great at this, and others not. Just FYI. Bottom Line: Get your food & drink and leave. UPDATE: Got a nice message from a staff member as a reply to this review - extra star for great customer service and caring enough to actually read Yelp =)

Not bad food, coffee a bit pricey. Workers didn't seem too interested in being there, not very friendly, looking at their phones the whole time.

The employees were all really nice and fast. There was a bunch of parking and seating when we came around 8:30 am on a friday morning. Coffee was just ok. I got a bagel that was at least a day old. It was super dry and kinda chewy in a stale way. They were wrapped up in saran-wrap in a basket on the counter. I think they would benefit from somebody making a pumpkin pie and selling that instead of re-selling Costco pie.

I love coming here because it is easy and by easy i mean... Most coffee shops have either long lines, no parking, bad service or just SHITTY coffee/ tea. Well, not Silverlake Coffee Co. I switch back and forth between a Soy Vanilla Latte or a Soy Chai Latte and they are made to perfection. Rarely do you ever see a long line, and if you do it moves extremely quick. There are plenty of seats inside including two comfy couches. I've sat outside a couple times when the weather was nice, it is extremely shaded so if there is at all a breeze you may want a sweater to keep warm. They play music there doesn't seem bad at all and the volume is always at a nice level. However, I always have my headphones with my own music for my own likings of course. Bagels are good, if you get it toasted-- once and a while they over toast it to where it is just slightly a little too crunchy.

super pleasantly surprised by the food here! Was wandering around bored on a sunny Sunday afternoon, and popped in here because I was STARVING. I know, I was thinking 'lunch at a coffeeshop? meh' but it was delicious! Had a mega ham and cheese panini, which came with a side salad, and ordered a yummy chai, and it was about $10! Great value for the size, and I had no complaints about the food! My dining companions and I were definitely the only people there hanging (read: not absorbed with our laptops and camped out for hours), but hey, if I lived closer, I'd probably settle in like a regular, too. Nice outdoor patio.

Awesome location, a parking lot, good music, outdoor patio seating. This would be a hands-down five stars if not for the a)uber-cool (read:lethargic) counterfolk, b)fact that you are in the same line as the three people ahead of you that ordered complete meals that must be made to order before you can order anything c) screenwriter wannabees fill the space (one-per-four-top) and conduct really loud, official-sounding "brainstorming" sessions. Decent coffee. Organic additions like agave make it super trendy. Waiting **twenty minutes** for one cup of coffee just SUCKS to anyone. I wish this occurred to the owners and they did something about it. Maybe a "just-drip" line, especially when you're on your way to work and the 90-pound big-banged skinny-jean girl in front of you with the mini lhasa apso doesn't give a hipster shit how long it takes her to decide which aioli makes her sound the most "LA".

This is my SPOT! Ive been going to Silver Lake Coffee Co for years now. Partly because Ive lived in the area for years, but also because I get SO much work done in that joint. They have a nice outdoor patio for coffee and cigarettes.. but once you walk inside it's like "SHHHH.... THINK TANK in progress." Everybody is chipping away at something. I love it. Great place to be focused, creative and productive. Coffee is good and they have enough food to keep you satisfied if you wanted to have some breakfast or even lunch. Parking lot in the back as well as street parking in the vicinity. Thumbs up Silver Lake Coffee Co... Thank you.... I love you.

Silverlake Coffee is blessed with one of the best locations in this hood, within stumbling distance of Rockaway for record shopping or the Red Lion for more serious imbibing, and a nice patio for when you want to hear cars whizzing down Glendale. Miss the old interior, but must admit the work they did on the place spruced it up quite a bit. I usually try to come early in the morning right after open or just before close to avoid the Mac Mafia rush. Coffee is usually solid, though can be hit-and-miss. Solid tunes on the 21st century jukebox.

Good coffee, I think a little more expensive than what I order at SBux. They charge 60 cents extra for soy milk (SBux: 40 cents. Hey, we're in a struggling economy). The guy at the register gave off a hurry the hell up and order vibe, but they made the coffee pretty quick, so whatever. The veggie burrito is good. They have free WiFi - whoo hoo! And lot's of places to sit inside or outside. I was there early so parking wasn't an issue but I could see it being an issue later on in the day (small parking lot).

Great local spot been going there since I moved to Los Angeles 5 years ago. Sometimes the staff can get a little slow, and yeah it's frustrating, but at least when you get your whatever from the,, 9 times out of 10 it was WAY above average compared to anything else. Free wifi, and an incredible menu, please go and just get something!

Good latte, free wifi, and an awesome outdoor seating area. I am looking forward to coming back here often! Oh and free/unlimited parking, which is a big fat bonus! Everyone behind the counter was really friendly, and the coffee shop was super clean. The outdoor seating area is large and shaded with big umbrellas, and the crowd is really relaxed. An all-around great place to come to chill out, get work done, and have a pretty decent cup of coffee.

WHOAH!!! extremely disappointing. really slow service (after 10 mins waiting for my drink the "barista" declared, "oops i made it, but i forgot it in the blender with zero apology). it was an espresso banana smoothie, or was it? there was no coffee or espresso of any kind in it. i guess they forgot that part. basically it was expensive chocolate milk in a plastic cup that i had to wait way to long for. my friend & husband faired even worse. they both ordered vanilla lattes in ceramic mugs. the first one came in a paper cup & had big black chunks floating on top. hmmm? maybe it was a fluke? the second one came in an enormous coffee mug that had a homemade label on it that said 24 oz cup. the outside bottom of his mug was covered in crusty coffee grinds & the drink itself tasted like chocolate. so, so bad people. how does anyone put up with this place? the pastry case had random things inside like a costco bought pumpkin pie with the costco price tag still on it & a plastic cambro full of eggs. what is this? someone's personal fridge or the display case of a business? absolutely will not return under any circumstances. so sad that this couldn't be another option among the good eastside coffee joints.

I love Silverlake Coffee! I've been coming here pretty regularly since moving to Silver Lake, and it's probably my favorite place in the area to sit and get some work done (either inside or out on the patio, depending on the weather.) Clearly many others agree, as I now recognize quite a few regulars on my visits. I enjoy the productive but laid back environment, and the baristas are for the most part great. My only complaint, however, has been a growing trend of several baristas chatting at length about their wild parties and drunken shenanigans. Normally this wouldn't be too big a deal, except that the place is pretty quiet, so this can be incredibly distracting when you're sitting anywhere nearby. A minor complaint, probably, but it has induced me to leave sooner than I'd planned more than once. That said, I still love Silverlake Coffee, and recommend giving it a try.

The food and drinks are overpriced and they're not that great. I once ordered an english muffin sandwich with egg whites and ham and it ended up costing about $5. I can make that at home for pennies! The service isn't that great either. Most of the baristas have the Silver Lake Hipster bad attitude.

Great cafe when you need to camp out for a few hours and get shit done. Free wifi, free parking, nice outdoor seating, pretty good food (for a cafe), and decent coffee. The coffee isn't going to please third wave barista snobs, but it's just fine. Cheap refills. Hipster clientele, though definitely on the grad student/we're 'creatives' side (as opposed to slacker). People definitely come here to work, not socialize. Only wish they were open later. Not really sure what it is with Los Angeles and cafes not being open past 8 or 9 (or even 7 in some cases). I suppose it's motivation to get your shit done by 9 so you can reward youself with a drink at the Red Lion or Cha Cha afterwards. Also wish I lived closer, but that's my own two-star PITA.

This is a Great place to work from on a "work from coffee shop day". The staff is friendly and casual, their baristas are great so their lattes are really good. Lots of tables, electric sockets, free wifi and free parking make this a great work environment. Ps: I love the music they play here and is the reason I've had to upgrade my shazam app.

Was supposed to meet a date here but ran into a few problems. 1. I try to call to see what time they close but no answer (figure they are closed). 2. Decide to go to the Red lion instead but as we walk by Silverlake Coffee we notice they are open so we decide to go back to plan A but after walking though the unlocked door they tell us they are closed. 3. After walking out the door I notice the business hours posted say they are open for ten more minutes (closing early is a bad business practice in my book). 4. I get a little annoyed and my date is not impressed. my 2 cents, thanks for reading.

One of my favorite local coffee houses. It always a treat to pop in for their vanilla bean Red Eye! The staff is always so friendly, the food smells so delicious while I'm waiting. I just have to drive over the hill from my place, parking is usually pletiful. The once somewhat quiet ambience is fading, as there are less places to sit, as the coffee house becomes more popular. This is great for the small business owner, I know hes worked hard for years; however it makes it hard for those of us who have always enjoyed the spaciouness and room to relax and pull out our lap tops. All Good, still a great palce to get some local flavor!

Get the organic coffee. It's good. I've ordered two breakfast items here: 1. egg white scramble with veggies, wheat toast and sliced tomatoes (i was being good) and 2. a bagel with egg, cheee, bacon, avocado and tomato (i was being bad). The food just isn't that good, but I appreciate the fact that a coffee shop goes the distance by offering hot breakfast items like bfast burritos, scrambles, and build your own sandwiches. I'm happy to have it around, but there are better coffee shops. This one's walking distance from my house, so I plan to stay loyal to it.

wooot i love it here. it's like my home away from home. really. i spend a lot of time here writing papers and studying. if you're there early enough, get the breakfast burrito (they stop serving them at 1:30pm). they're super delicious. good coffee and lattes, fair prices, free wifi, ample workspace, beautiful patio with accessible outlets. there's really nothing negative to say. - well... it can get crowded at times so you have to strategically plan your arrival around the 'rush' time.

What I like about LA are the spots that don't remind me of LA. Little pockets where roads are empty, where grubby store signs and pretentious billboards aren't overlapping each other, where plant foliage replace ridiculously tall skinny palm trees, where more interconnecting sidewalks run farther than a few blocks, and where there's less distraction from freeway overpasses and stark 1970s architecture. Also, the void of nervousness that you won't miss your engagement in nearby Echo Park because "the traffic was..." we already know. This area is decent but when traffic hits, the blinds can be closed so you won't have to look at what makes LA a functioning city. I come to Silverlake Coffee often because I am able to hop in my car and drive over to my teacher's pad in Echo Park as efficiently as being in Echo Park. The inside has a three rows of large tables that are often inhabited by laptop users. Three laptops can fit to one table. The soy Oregon Chai is good. This coffee shop is San Francisco at its average. I couldn't ask for more.

Decent place to come and write a script, surf the net or just have coffee with a friend. Outdoor seating is nice but then you have the smokers to deal with. Sandwich breakfast is good but they don't give free refills like other places. Still a nice place to visit.

Cool shop, decent Americano. First time in Silverlake, so a good place to check out the scene. Loving that it's not a chain coffee shop, this place felt a lot more comfortable to just hang out in. Baristas were super chill as well. Mad hipster, but I recommend!

Delicious food, nice atmosphere. Nothing better than food that tastes as good as it looks. Just went for a quick breakfast with a friend and I was just what we were looking for. Not the most peaceful of locations, but the patio seating was nice. I would definitely return.

Good- The place has a very cute outside & a free 2hr parking lot & lots of available 10hr street parking. I got an iced coffee & a fresh veggie sandwich on a cheese bagel. Both were tasty and decently priced ($8ish for it all). There is also free wi-fi & at least a few plugs. It also had a computer terminal that you could pay for if you need to stop & look something up. Saw a few quasi-famous people getting coffee (which is kind of cool even if you were born & bred in this city ;-p). Bad- Hipsters love to smoke apparently and apparently this is where they love to do it--the outside kind of reeked and every once in a while the smell wafted in too--I'm not a fan of that. The place was pretty crowded. I got there at 10am and some people (including myself) didn't move for hrs, so getting a spot might be kinda difficult. The wifi was not reliable and I couldn't stream some videos I had to watch. And I was very happy I brought ear plugs cause the people around were interesting & loud enough that I wanted to eavesdrop the entire time. Also, they have a B rating... booo... I've worked at a coffee shop, I know the rules are nitpicky for getting an A & that getting a B might not mean anything significant, but instinctively I think ewww when I see anything but an A. Overall- I'd def come back again if I'm nearby or need to meet a friend halfway between the valley & downtown (which is exactly what brought me to this place to begin with).
Came with my cousin because my friend was raving and just got a job here I must say this is a awesome cafe the music is epic and the food Jesus I've died and Gone to panini heaven! Good little place hidden in silverlake with an awesome outside patio! Great for summer weather!

so it's a good place to study, but be sure to bring your earphones. it gets loud (music and employee gossip) i give it stars because i get things done here and they have food if i'm hungry. i TOOK STARS AWAY because im sitting here watching people hungrily waiting for their sandwiches while the employees are gossiping and taking their sweet time to make the food. some of them are great, but some of them need to get back to work. *excerpt* cause the last thing i want to do is to start sh*t...you know what i mean? she needs to start earlier. right if she really doesn't want to do it......* i shouldn't be able to hear this across the shop. don't trash talk a coworker where everyone can listen. it's unprofessional. that is all.

As a regular at the Coffee Table off of Hyperion, its sad to admit that I have only recently discovered Silverlake Coffee Co (the one with the cup and the patio!). Walking in you can be a bit overwhelmed by laptop to people ratio as it seems everyone is there to study, work or lurk on the InterWeb. The service is coffee shop typical, the pastries look alright (haven't tried them), but the coffee and food is delightful and the prices are great! I continue to return to Silverlake Coffee and may even become a regular because of all of the previous points. I've worked here, read here, met up with a friend and written here. Oh and one more thing, ladies, I can honestly say that there is always at least one devilishly cute hipster reading or writing here which took me from a four star to a five star review. Tonight's coffee shop hottie looked like he came right out of the 60's beatnik era but had the tightest pair of jeans on a boy I've ever seen. SCHWING! Point is, there's good people watching to boot.

My firstie review and what a way to start! Once, I was four-square mayor, until I was donezo with four-square. I've been a somewhat regular here for mayyybe a yearish now but that is besides the point. This is my favorite place for just-before-work coffee or iced cranberry chai and a sesame bagel with cream cheese and avocado. Their latte's are beyond words: smooth, frothy with a perfect sweetness to them. Pandora is usually playing a box full of wonders behind the bar, there's free wi-fi and often times a sweet old man outside to say good-day to as I head on my way. My only problem (which is my own problem) is that I feel too shy to ask for a stamp card and then the subsequent stamps.... does anyone use them? They're always staring me in the face as I order, I just never witness an actual stamp-giving or recieving moment. Simple, easy and delicious because of it. I heart Silverlake Coffee.

Yummy food and drinks. Great outdoor patio and seating area with plugs. Wi-Fi is unreliable at times but if you ask the workers to reset it, it works fine. Indoor seating is a bit small and awkward. Service is okay for the most part, but there are a few rude baristas that leave a sour taste in your mouth. Parking is very convenient as well. Great place to do work, grab lunch, or hang out with friends.

I really do wonder why they call this place Silverlake ,i would just call it Hidden North Cal;the whole place has steep roads and it is a tiny roller coaster city.wheeeee..yes!! i love the rides. Located right next to the Yummy GingerGrass is this Coffee place, and i went here during a rainy day to quickly grab a cup of coffee,it's a small place with cute couches and dim lights and lot of people do seem to sit there and do their work. And it is a great spot to read books and do homework. And next time when the climate is better i would definitely get some coffee from here and walk up to the reservoir.Overall,a small neat place to have some time for yourself. And the coffee is good :) -Smriti

Really dope place... I spent a Saturday afternoon driving all over the Glendale area for a decent coffee shop with decent internet speed. After 5 tries I found myself at this place. So now I find myself going here every weekend to work on my laptop. Good music although I got my headphones on, chill people hanging out there and the workers do what they do I guess. I can't comment too much on the drinks since I have not tried everything. Also there is plenty of FREE parking. I would like to give it a 5 but its too early to do so.

I came here to get a quick drink. Being that it is a coffee shop, I normally would have gotten a soy latte or something of that sort, but I opted for the Iced Raspberry Chai because I saw someone mention in in their review. The drink is basically and expensive cranberry juice with a hint of spice. The barista even said it was cranberry juice with chai...I should have changed my order right there, but in the heat of the moment of standing at the register I just said "okay". I wouldn't order this drink again, it was reminded me of cranberry vodka, maybe that is why I didn't like the drink. bleh. I liked the ambiance of the coffee shop, however. It was a little dark, but they offer wi-fi and tables indoors as well as outdoor tables. When I was there (5pm Saturday) it was quite busy with people meeting with friends or doing work. If I am in the area again, I would definitely stop by here over a Starbucks. When I have the chance to give local businesses my money over a chain, I gladly do so.

I come here sometimes on the weekdays to get some study time in and drink some yummy coffees. Delightful staff, good music, plenty of outlets, and yummy hazelnut lattes. There are two comfy couches you can sit on or you can choose to sit at a table and work along side fellow patrons. The only downside is this place can get busy in the evening and then seating can become an issue. It's a small coffee joint so you gotta be willing to share the small space with others. Otherwise, I love coming here!

Came in today with a friend on an apartment hunt and grabbed some coffee. Let me explain why this is so important - my wife and I gave up caffeine about a month ago (still tired and still have a grumbly tummy but it'll be good..it'll be good...) so I've come to be a real coneissuer of really good coffee drinks made with decaf. 99% of them taste like dirty water. This place does it right. Yummy, full, rich and tasty. The decaf iced mocha (I know it's probably not 100% decaf what with having chocolate - LEAVE ME ALONE!!!) is freaking great, and the nice thing about only having coffee drinks like once a week or so instead of once a day, is that I don't feel like I have to opt for the non-fat version. Service was super nice. I'll totally be back really soon - much better decaf than Coffee Table - and free wifi is pretty great. Great!

Best coffee shop in LA. It feels like home. Great baristas. Great indoor and outdoor patio space. Very cool people hanging out. If there was a coffee shop in heaven it would be called Silverlake Coffee.

Some years back I lived across the street from Silverlake Coffee. Well, technically, next to Cha Cha when it was a gay rancher bar. A lot has changed at Silverlake Coffee, it looks like they have done some upgrading. The staff has always been consistently cool, especially the girl that works morning (funny and down to earth) and the young dude. Gee, that tells you alot :/ Ok, so most importantly, good selection of food and drinks, the cheese bagel is scrumptious and I always seem to find a table outside. And they hired a parking guy because the assholes that eat at that janky Thai place take up the parking. Lovely.

I lived in Echo Park for three years. I would drive over the hill every morning to Silverlake Coffee Co. to get my first cup of java. Sometimes I would ride my bike along the river and stop for an ice coffee. As a writer, it's great to sit and write in the nice atmosphere. Also, I met sever writers of note who also frequent this establishment. Coffee is coffee, so for me it's the service, the people and the environment. SCC has it all.

in all my years haunting that little non-descript strip in between the ghetto Ralphs strip mall and Rockaway Records (amazing it's still in business), Red Lion, and all the random places in between, i had never set foot in SilverLake Coffee. SLC is the somewhat unobvious place next door to the underwhelming, overrated/overpriced scenester hang with the psycho-parking situation that calls itself Gingergrass 'Vietnamese.' anywoozers, luckily there IS reasonable amount of parking in the back, thankfully non-contiguous with the Gingergrass circus show next door. the Verdict? --Coffee--decent, not great, but not horrible. --The Food--standard issue unappetizing bagel. The garden salad with added avocado was decent, though the avocado was not winning any awards. --The Service--they are somewhat aloof here, but reasonably cordial-- though service was quite slow even tho it wasn't very crowded. it took our server FOREVER to put that salad together and even longer to figure out how to peel and slice an avocado!! (at least better than pre-sliced unfresh aguacates of course)... --Comfort level/Ambience--the inside is kinda cozy, we were there on a saturday afternoon and it was not too packed. It being a bright sunny day, we sat outside in the quite pedestrian patio area which was charmless and, as i say, pedestrian-- which is passable though you are certainly not shielded from the delightful sight of traffic rolling up and down glendale blvd. i wouldn't really go back unless i happened to be in that particular area and needed to stay in the area for a while to keep my schedule logistically/geographically convenient for the day.... DONE.

They have good coffee. Too bad it takes them three hours to make it. It's also quieter than a library in there. FYI It's almost like they train people to be horrible at customer service there. I've been going there intermittently for about 4 years and I have *never* had a good customer service experience there. Maybe they beat their employees or keep them inprisoned? I was in line the other day and the cashier started chatting up some old co-worker or something, talking about how "oh yeah she fired me the next day..." and "but i'm okay now. yeah i work here! No, yeah I'm doing fine. Great!" It was like she was doing an impression of Anne Hathaway in Rachel Getting Married or something. No sh*t?! She should have taken their order, taken our order, and then spoke to them as the food and bev were prepping. She clearly didn't care about us or the people behind us or the people behind them. Frustrating. Her co-worker who did help us, seemed embarrassed about this, and I felt bad for her. ...& hey, don't read this and give me that - "if you want fast service, go to starbucks" crap, because they power through the line over at the coffee table down the street and for sure kill it with goodness at Intellegentsia. So if this is the only coffee shop you can get to, at all, for good coffee. Go ahead and do it but I hope you have a lot of time to kill.

Is it gauche to write and submit a review from the very place you are reviewing? Perhaps, but here we are. I haven't done the work at a coffee shop thing since law school, and frankly I wasn't a fan then. It's really an exercise in procrastination to do that because first you have to find parking. Then you have to find a place to sit with enough space for your stuff. Then you have to find a place to plug in your laptop. It just goes on and on. But I woke up this morning with a desire to get work done, but not go to the office or stay at home, where I would inevitably waste the day watching movies on demand. I looked up "coffee" and "free wi-fi" in my general vicinity on yelp, and the reviews for this place indicated that there would be lots of parking and plenty of outlets. Sold. I've been here for three hours. Very quiet in the early afternoon, when there were other studiers/workers here and I got a good amount done. I decided to take a break and read the Sunday Vows article in the New York Times online because I am a masochist. Then I decided to write this review. Coffee is good and relatively inexpensive, veggies sandwich is good. Seems that they run out of things, but I'm not really here for the food. Sweet, spacious parking lot, plenty of outlets, free wi-fi, folks who work here are nice, and relatively calm atmosphere. That's the takeaway. I was going to give it four stars, but I couldn't figure out a good reason to not give it five. The end.

ahh I want to live in Silverlake so desperately. And when I do, this local coffee shop will be my home away from home. The one thing I don't like is their lack of space. I'm definitely not a fan of waiting for a table to clear but it happens sometimes here. What they lack in space, they make up for in food, free wi-fi and free parking! They actually have a lot right next to them! Seeing free parking adjacent to my destination is pretty much like hitting the jackpot for me. Also, all of their drinks and food are sooooo cheap! Seriously, their bagels are less than two bucks and their expresso drinks are anywhere from $2-4 depending on the size. Way better than paying $10 for a watered down drink and a pathetic array of cheese and fruit at Starbucks.

Had a ridiculous experience this morning. Ordered a bagel. It so happened it wasn't fresh. I told them it wasn't baked today. The manager dramatically announces that he's going to call Brooklyn Bagel, which supplies their bagel, to confirm that it was baked today. I was put in a silly, embarrassing situation. I suggested to the manager to taste the bagel himself, to verify, since the sliced bagel was untouched on one half - but he again announces, "I don't need to taste it. In seven years, no one has ever complained about the bagels!" Huh? Which means? Besides turning me into the problem - when I was matter-of-fact and unconfrontational - instead of being open to the possibility that I could be correct, and might know what fresh bagel is, it was pointlessly confrontational and condescending, for no reason. Over a bagel? Has there never been an error made, and a not-fresh bagel served?

Excellent place to hang out. They have free wifi, a nice outdoor patio (or air-conditioning inside if you prefer), good food, and a parking lot. You can't really ask for much more. Oh, and the staff is always friendly. I come here with my boyfriend and my dog quite often. We always buy something to "pay the rent." They have a good selection of bottled drinks, they cook up excellent breakfasts, and they have lots of teas. Highly recommend. Edit: After coming here several times, I have to note that there's a regular customer who likes to pour birdseed on the upper patio. If you're sitting below on the lower patio it gets friggin' everywhere. It gets on your computer, in your food, and on all your stuff. Apparently the staff doesn't mind, but I sure do. Also, the chocolate chunk muffins were not fresh, and did not taste good. I threw mine out. Stick to the cooked food on the menu.

The side porch is probably one of my favorite outdoor seating areas of any coffee shop I've been to! I'm always on the hunt for the perfect outdoor coffee shop porch, and I think I might have found it here! Lots of people on their computers but it's still laid back. Trees for shade and enough tables for everyone. Delicious tea and chai tea latte! Can't wait to come back here, it might deserve 5 stars after a few visits.

I just tried to order a turkey and cranberry sandwich, which they have, but I wanted it on a wrap. The woman at the counter refused. "We can't do that on a wrap. I am not sure why, but there's a reason." OK... well... Then I said, "I will have a wrap with turkey, cheese, sprouts and tomatoes." Pretty basic right? "The turkey sandwich has peppers, lettuce and tomatoes, so you want a turkey sandwich no peppers add sprouts and cheese?" said in the most bitchy, 'I have your cornered' kind of way. "Can I see that secret sandwich list you have behind the counter so I know what comes on your wraps and I can decide while you wait on others?" I said. "No, it's just for us." I was tempted to make her read them all to me while everyone waited, but I couldn't bear to be 'that' person. "Can't I just tell you what I want on my sandwich?" I asked. "No. We are a coffee shop, not a sandwich shop." Really?! You have a pretty extensive food menu for a coffee shop. Wow! I am disappointed as I just moved into the neighborhood from downtown to a place I thought would be so much more customer friendly. Wrong. No "stars" for you Silverlake "Coffee" (and sandwich shop). ---- Thanks for responding Lawrence, I removed the heat-of-the moment expletives from my comments, but still stick, by the meat of my review. I have no doubt your baristas backed their co-worker, but from a customer's perspective she was short and uncivil - the type of tone that was impatient and sick of explaining the situation. I do not think saying, "We are a coffee shop, not a sandwich shop," is civil in response to my request for a turkey and cranberry on a wrap, or sprouts and cheese on my sandwich. And you should make the sandwich menu available so people know their choices and do not need to ask a thousand questions to figure out which sandwich they want. You are indeed a coffee AND sandwich shop whether you like it or not. I have been there several times before moving here and have always had an acceptable experience, but I heard this particular woman pass out negative vibes to customers ABOUT customers more than one time in my 10 minutes at the counter. ...People get mad at her because she has to charge more for soy milk. but it's more expensive, so don't complain... The debit charge went up and now customers give her a hard time if they can't use their card for a purchase under $4. Etc... Anyway, she has bad vibes. I'll be back, but not when she's at the counter. I just want to order and enjoy. Not be scolded.

The coffee's great & I usually enjoy my time here, but listening to one of your employees (taller with light brown hair) completely cut the other down tonight in front of customers totally killed the vibe of this place for me. It's obvious this person isn't an actual manager, since a trained manager would understand that degrading staff in front of patrons is a huge no-no.

Don't come here for food. The menu sucks and so does the food. With all the cafes in the area... I would never come back here.

I can't believe this place closes so early! Other than that, it's a good spot to work. The patio is comfortable, despite facing a major street, and the indoor seating is cozy as well. I always see the same people when I come here, which makes me think it's a bona fide neighborhood hangout. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I'm a writer who has trouble working in her own home. In my quest for the perfect coffee shop, I have devised my own star rating system for the shops I review on this site. Each attribute below is worth one star, which makes it possible for a shop to lack desirable attributes yet still receive a perfect Yelp rating. Anything with a perfect Yelp rating is a place in which I am happy to sit for hours on end. * well lit * cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating * wifi (free or not) * open late * serves loose leaf tea * variety of affordable food and beverages * interesting people-watching, whether it be out the window or in the shop * not too crowded (I hardly ever go on the weekends because I know the odds would be against me) I understand that my rating system is unique to my own needs but hopefully I will be able to highlight qualities that others may be interested in.

Great place for tourists to watch real screenwriters procrastinate in front of their Macs. Not as good as Lamill, but then again, SC won't require you to mortgage your house to afford a cup! Top 40 music could be replaced by something hipper...

Nice local coffee shop. I really like their Mojito Iced Tea (I think it's just a mint green tea). They have free wifi, prices are reasonable, and a nice front patio area. Too bad they close at 9pm.

I prefer this over Intelligensia, Casbah, or La Mill times 100. Larger space; easier, more relaxing service; and good coffee courtesy of Supreme Bean. Whereas the previously mentioned coffee shops are often expensive, pretentious and crowded; the Silverlake Coffee Co delivers an easy, accessible but delicious cup of coffee in a less (yes, I'm using that derogatory term) "hipstery" environment that I can deal with on a regular basis as my go-to spot.

Free wifi, parking, and really awesome coffee! I was looking high and low for a new coffee shop where I felt I could get work done and enjoy their java. I found it was a very difficult combination to find. Either I liked the coffee and hated the vibe or vice versa. I really think their espresso is underrated, and that's coming from a coffee snob. Really friendly staff and definitely will be back again!

If you like queuing for coffee in the dark, and then discovering that there's nowhere to sit because the same 25 people and their laptops occupy every damn table every damn day, come here.

Fantastic place to just sit and enjoy. Coffee is good- never the best coffee you have ever had- never bad. Consistently good. A second plus is the bagels are pretty excellent, for the West Coast. Having grown up a bagel snob in NYC- good to find something passable not on the west side. Take some friends and enjoy a quick breakfast or one of the many good beverages

This is a nice establishment with food, friendly service, and a good space. I'm only marking it down because it's often very busy, and if you want to work there you'll find yourself sitting in a row with 5 other laptoppers sitting shoulder-to-shoulder. Not ideal for most kinds of work.

Their lattes are really yummy. I've always been a Starbucks addict but this place has converted me. Plus I like being able to support a local business instead. I like that they have free wi-fi and there is always a place to sit. Their food is good but can be pricey.

Coffee's decent, they're always brewing new stuff. Parking's super easy but then it always in these parts. But dude, I've been here twice and each time the barrista has hit skip on their music thing when it's been playing a song I was way in to. There ARE bands other than The Strokes.

Simple. Very affordable. Ample parking. A little slow service though. Only one staff member was there! They have cookies and snacks but they are wrapped in plastic wrap and therefor taste as such. They would be great treats otherwise. One thing I did like was their agave sweetener. Much better for you than processed cane sugar.

The good: 1.) It's a nice vibe here. You can sit outside on a nice day and plug your laptop in. 2.) Free wifi totally rules. It's fast here, too. 3.) The place is always jammin', but it's never so packed you can't find a spot to park. 4.) Ample parking. Not something you see every day in Silverlake. The not as great: 1.) The food, she is not so good. 2.) The coffee is fine. Nothing to write home about. 3.) The service is a little slow. I've been in on a busy Saturday morning and been a little annoyed to see one person working the register, one person frantically making drinks to order, one person frantically making omelettes on a hot plate, and then one person sort of standing there with her hands on her hips just talking to customers. It's nice to have a friendly neighborhood chat, but it would be nice to see it happen while you're filling orders. Clearly I had this experience before coffee and so I was excessively cranky. But still.

I LOVE Silver Lake coffee. And for so many reasons.... 1. They use organic ingredients in their sandwiches, offer organic coffee, and you feel good about what you order there. So many places have questionable ingredients and don't even offer any organic or fair trade options for coffee or food. This is a huge deal for me, and anyone else who understands the benefits of organic living. 2. They actually have nice, down to earth people working there who know how to make a quality drink. Larry is the coolest- such a nice guy. He's a genuine good person and makes a fabulous latte. 3. Another HUGE plus for me, is that they actually spread your cream cheese on your bagel... I can't count how many times I've stopped somewhere to get a quick breakfast to go and when I get back to my car there is a plastic knife, carton of cream cheese (that only fits enough for one bagel side) and a do-it yourself mentality, like they're too busy to spread your cream cheese for you at a coffee shop... Trying to attempt that while driving to work isn't a good idea. And besides, it wastes so much plastic to do it that way. SLC always spreads it for you- and by the way their bagels are fantastic- and they even cut them in half if you like. (Please don't ever stop doing it this way, or I will be crushed!!) In short- great place: un-pretentious, nice people (well, most of them), not too crowded, quality food, good coffee.

My friend Jimmy and I have been looking for a cozy wifi cafe to do our writing in... um, done and done. Great atmosphere with long wooden tables and comfy couches, pretty folks for people watching (suck it, hipster Coffee Bean), and a long, appealing parade-of-hits menu. Their half sandwiches and bagel sandwiches start at under $5, smoothies at around $3.50. The indie music was a little too emo-lulling for me, but if I hadn't needed a little edge to get myself working, I'm sure I would have called it choice. Located just across the street from Silverlake Wine and down a block from the Red Lion. Parking is plentiful; so are plugs.

If you need to study, write a manuscript, or use the wifi- this place is a go. Coffee is decent, and the teas are great. Not an amazing coffee or pastries, but it gets me through my work. Bagels are good, breakfast sandwiches are my favorite.

I actually didn't even get to try the food or the coffee here. I wanted a hot ham sandwich and instead was given many obstacles as to why a hot ham sandwich was not possible. The wanna be hipster cashier girl gave me super snooty attitude so I just left. Tip to this company--hire friendly frontline staff who'll try to accommodate your customers. She lost you at least $30 worth of business. Maybe it's not a lot, but I'll also make sure to tell everyone I know about this experience so they can avoid being treated like dirt. p.a. Overpriced.

Me like Silverlake Coffee Co. very much! For one, their coffee is really, really good! Second, it's clean. Third, and most importantly, it's quiet for those of us who want to do work there. And even if you can't do work there, at least it's across the street from the Silverlake Library so you can take breaks from studying/working and grab a cup of joe. Their food is also pretty good. I've only had their paninis and bagels, but it does the job without any complaints. Lastly, this coffee shop is not a scene - which works if you're just trying to relax or work. If you're looking for a scene go to the Bourgeois Pig or Intelligentsia.

I'm a fan of the space, location, free wi-fi, baked goods, and a few of the drinks. Not so much when it comes to the $7-9 sandwiches and espresso drinks. It's hit or miss when it comes to the macchiato and capps but the coffee and various tea drinks are decent. I *do* enjoy the music, wooden tables and chairs, outdoor patio, red walls, and the rad "gourmet coffees of the world" map. Service can be slow if it's crowded but on the whole, they do a great job of working through drink orders! + frequent coffee card

This is where i sometimes go when: -I'm "working from home". (not so rare). -I can't stand being in the office any longer but still have to work, and don't want to bring it home. (not so rare) -It's a nice day, I don't have to work, I don't have to be on my computer, or on the internet, and I have some light reading or lazy absent-minded phone-convo-eavesdropping to do over a beverage outside (rarest of them all). I think the coffee here's great (I only get espresso drinks though), and that banana espresso smoothie others on here recommended is yums in the tums - I think there's choco in there too because it was rather desserty. Foodwise, I've ordered the veggie sammich and the veggie panini and I prefer the sammich.

Looking forward to checking out the new pastries! Seriously, this cafe is pretty good. Just not a good place for me (personally) to get some work done, but I'd stop by for some joe and a pastry! Thanks for the feedback Lawrence. :)

I'll give them one star because the food isn't too bad. But when a place themes itself after coffee and serves coffee this incredibly gross (not even mediocre or generic -- but gross), I have to speak up. It's such a waste of a great space. And I'm no coffee snob. I'll drink Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds and not complain. But this is gross. Yeah, I like the high-end stuff at Intelligentsia and LAMill yet I'll take the SL Coffee atmosphere over them any day. But not if I actually have to drink that stuff they somehow get away with calling "coffee." Nice people, nice place -- it would SO nice if they just spent more than .01 cents a pound on their coffee.

Silverlake Coffee has become my new home away from home. I've been driving up from the OC to Silverlake to go apartment hunting in the area and often set up here as my base of operations for the following reasons: *Free wifi (inside and outside) *A crazy number of outlets *A good number of seats but not enough recently *Free refills on iced teas, which is all I drink these days since I've become too sensitive to caffeine. *A pretty impressive bulgogi wrap with side salad of fresh greens and vegetables. The bulgogi wrap is quite impressive and I make amazing bulgogi. *A clean restroom. I'm a Virgo. That ought to explain the significance of a clean restroom. *Nice outdoor seating area where you can eavesdrop on all sorts of convo. The staff has always been very nice to me, although I don't quite get their pictures at a shooting range. They're so mild mannered. Maybe it's true what they say about the quiet ones. One downside: I'm not too crazy about the not so strong ac but can't have everything

I love this joint. They're friendly, they're dog friendly, the internet always works, the patio is fun, the owner always makes a point of saying hello, there's usually parking, the toilet smells of my childhood, and although the food selection is a little limited, I give them 5 stars because they make the best sugar & fat free vanilla latte I have ever tasted. Seriously, I don't know what they do, but that shit is the shit yo. It's actually too good as I become some sort of goggle-eyed thirst monster when I have it and usually gulp it down in about 15 seconds then scald my lips & need another then I get hyper and start to fizz and effuse and my sentences become too long and I want to love and forgive everyone for everything forever and ever amen...

Wifi heaven. Honestly free wifi in LA. I lived here when I first moved here and was searching for an apartment. The food was good. The people are super nice. It's very cozy. The coffee is alright. Wait? Why am I not there now?

Dudes, been going here for six years when it was a yellow box next to Seven Crows. Larry is a cool cat. I suggest the Iced mixed and the outdoor seating. Say "Whats Up" to Sergio too...The only downside is the parking but honestly I've never had trouble... just think of the parking lot as "cozy." Bout to conquer this...Whhhaaaaa....that's right.

Don't come here. Really. I'm working, sipping a nice iced coffee. It's good, we're all good. It's crowded, lively, but not heaving. There's a Starbucks right down the road. So go there. Don't come here.

Maybe this place has good coffee or whatever but all I know is that I went in once and ordered a toasted sesame bagel with lox spread and it was the weakest, skimpiest bagel scene ever. This place must have that Subway 'ration the toppings and condiments' mentality because the lox spread was almost nonexistent. I'm talking like .00008 ounces of cream cheese. Just pathetic. Price tag: $4.00. Had they run out of lox? Was there a shortage of salmon somewhere from which to derive the lox based cream cheese spread? It was so pathetic that I went up to the guy at the counter and asked if they could put any more cream cheese on there and he says 'well uh, that stuff is like, really expensive, so, no..". Seriously? So you can't justify a little extra spread with the $5 you charge for your 5th generation skinny jeans and headband hipster bullshit latte? I guess not. So you know what? Screw you guys.

I mistakenly took this place for Coffee Table Lounge in Eagle Rock and wrote a negative review. To alleviate my guilt I decided to stop by for some coffee. This is a nice place with decent coffee. 3 stars for being a cool place and 1 star for the guilt. 4 total stars. Yay!

I liked this place a TON! The selections are great, and the shop looks a lot like Boston Beanstock in Boston, so it made me feel at home! The only problem I had here was that there was a (maybe) homeless man that came over and sat with me for a bit, and I feel like that wouldn't have happened if someone was routinely coming outside. I mean, I don't want to dis them because it was not anyone's fault, but alas, it was still sketchy. I love this place and will be coming back!

These guys have a decent menu and very good coffee (and coffee-related drinks). Please allow for me to go into more detail. My first order there was a blended iced concoction. Normally at cafes, I get about 3/4 way done and it all becomes a solid mass at the bottom that's lacking flavor. This place doesn't do that, somehow. Every last sip was pure blended iced concoction goodness! I've only eaten 2 sandwiches here, but they were both good. One was a panini, which was a little strange because they used mustard on it, which didn't seem appropriate, but it tasted rather good. The other sandwich was the turkey cranberry, which was Turkey CranBangin (tm)!!! Seriously, it was pretty great. A friend of mine ordered the veggie sandwich, which looked very hearty, mostly due to the ample amount of avocado. The funniest part of going there is walking in and thinking you're in a Mac ad. All I could see were little apple computer logos lit up in rows. Everybody had their MacBooks out and it was hysterical. My first time there was to get some work done outside of my apartment, so I did have my PC laptop (I'm apparently not very cool) with me...but the row of apple icons will make you giggle. The staff is also very nice. Let's not forget that.

Eh. I dunno.. boy was it dirty in there. Spilled coffee and empty sugar packets all over the place. Every empty table outside was covered with dirty dishes and ashtrays. Maybe they were short-staffed and I showed up at the wrong time, but I don't think I'll be going back to give them another try.

I blame the last 10 pounds I've gained on Silverlake Coffee Co. I used to eat healthy, work out once or twice a day, drank my coffee with no sugar... Then I had an iced mocha from Silverlake Coffee Co. It was so good I drank the whole gigantic tub of sugar, fat and caffeine in 5 minutes. And I have been spotted frequently returning for more. The coffee here is great, and major points for the wi-fi, even though I don't use it. Fair Warning: Don't eat the food. It's not toxic or anything. It's just really not good. At all. Come in for a fatsugarchino, bring your laptop and listen to the young kids behind the counter (loudly) sing along to the new Joanna Newsom CD.

Very chill coffee spot to have a quiet conversation with a friends, or to do some catch up work on your laptop. My favorite ice-blended coffee in LA. Iced blended vanilla soy. Perfect! The employees are usually very laid back and nice, however there is female worker that is extremely slow, like she's been taking her morning bong rips or something.

Popped in to grab a vanilla chai latte on a Saturday night and it was delicious. Simple as that. They had a lot of different kinds of tea too. Knocked a star because the cardboard thingy that goes around the cup was a bit too thin and my hand was getting scalded. Delicious nonetheless.

I had a bad experience here, but the owner took the time to explain and apologize to me. Therefore I retract my review and do another one next time.

I found this place to be exactly what I expected - a decent coffee shop. Good coffee, good food, good prices, a decent amount of outdoor seating, and clientel trying to be so not cool - they're totally cool. I liked it.

Free Wi-Fi. Almost enough said - Silverlake Coffee is a fantastic find: not overrun by people, quiet, good coffee, and the food isn't bad - it's just they have no kitchen, so everything's prepared on a campfire propane grill and the eggs are nuked. The only bad thing is even in Silver Lake, Hollywood is pervasive: everyone, yes, all the customers seem to be writing screenplays on their Mac Books. I suspect a lot of the people in the area also work from home (as I do), and so Silver Lake Coffee is a god-send...a place you can walk to and simply break up the monotony of work-at-home. Plus, it's next to the illustrious Panty Raid.

Good all around coffee spot. Plenty of room to sit; tables and chairs plus couches inside, and a large outdoor area with lots of room, and free wifi. The food is better than most coffee spots, with simple cooked to order breakfast and lunch items which is a huge plus. The coffee is very good, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

I came here as often as possible when I lived in LA. Why? They have a frequent drinkers card. There is a used bookstore next door. There is a used cd/dvd place across the street. Their large iced coffee all sweetened for you is $2.65, a deal. They have free wifi. They have tons of seating, inside and out. You can eat a bulgogi sandwich. Or the turkey & cranberry sandwich.

I rarely would recommend a chain coffee joint over an indie, but in this case there's a Starbucks just North of this place. From the laconic staff to the second worst iced Americano I've experienced in LA, this place encapsulates mediocrity. I'm baffled at the amount of positive reviews considering I've given this place a few tries, I really wanted them to come through but I guess I'll continue to drive a bit farther to Downbeat for proper caffeination.

A nice coffe house with lots of character. I often go here to study, read or check my email. They have great sandwiches, good coffe, free wifii and a nice atmosphere. As soon as I found out about it, I made it my hangout place.

Silverlake Coffee Co. made my Valentine's Day. I groggily strolled into the Coffee Shoppe early this morning on my way to a business meeting in Hollywood. Running on little sleep, the day had not quite come into focus- but thanks to their terrific staff I was transformed. A polished and swarthy gentleman greeted me with a smile, and after complimenting my leather jacket, asked what they could make for me. His colleague, a fair-skinned gent with radiant blue eyes offered a courteous smile and nod before he quickly brewed me a strong, delicious caffeinated beverage. The three team members (including a lovely brunette woman who was preparing food) maneuvered their movement behind the counter with finesse and purpose, as if within a choreographed ballet. The first employee called out the name of another guest who had an exquisite-looking breakfast burrito and fragrant homefries freshly plated to be enjoyed. Knowing I had a long day of work ahead of me, I asked for a portable breakfast recommendation. The second employee suggested the "California Suncake" flavored with Chocolate and Orange. I enjoyed this delectable treat with strawberries (delightful) and embarked on my day, thoroughly rejuvenated thanks to the good people at Silverlake Coffee.

Silverlake Coffee is my second office. Free Wifi, plenty of patio space, and a myriad of eye candy - from the hipsters, to middle aged yuppies, to the skinny asian dude rocking out in his earbuds and laptop - make this place a staple in my daily life. I drink the iced chai tea. It's delicious. And my english bulldogs love Silverlake Coffee's patio as well. They are always a hit.

About 7 years ago I loved this place, then they changed owners and I liked the place a lot, and now they have a new owner and I still like this place a lot. It's definitely not what it used to be but it's still a great place to go to if you are looking for tea (Lavender Earl Grey is a must) or coffee. The sandwiches need a little work. The free wifi is definitely what draws me there. If you are not a cat lover be careful of those nasty things in the parking lot. Overall, the staff is great and it will totally be worth while to try it out.

I've obsessively mapped out every coffee shop in the vicinity and have actually visited them. Going to coffee shops by one's lonesome, to commit the treasonous act of thinking hard, is an arduous feat. Three hours in, paranoia and depression could sink in, as eyes that aren't glued to computer screens occasionally dart up and visually stalk other bodies in the room. It's a charged situation, everyone sitting side by side and heady projects furiously being processed by Macbooks. Getting up for a coffee refill or going to the bathroom ruffles all the souls in one's immediate vicinity; god forbid one would make the daring move of ordering a dish that requires silverware. Many revelatory faux pas are "brew" in these ostensibly elevated situations of concentration and caffeine. However, I maneuver these situations with some small purpose, coming mainly from my possession of high tech looking gear and actual homework to do. [long pause] I have just erased my reviews of other cafes realising they don't belong here, so I am erasing, and returning to the original subject, for it is only too much of a pleasure to bitch about coffee shops. The point is, Silverlake coffee is the more tolerable of the bunch. Sorta OK: I wish they have a greater selection of protein bars. Heart-healthy rock-like formations, and Cliff/Luna: I can't imagine anyone would actually subsist on them, as I require of a selection of protein bars. Their salads could be more hearty too. Those unwieldy gleaming plates bespeak only of posher spheres not fitting of a standard salad with cold cuts on it. Moreover, the music kind of blows, although it's at low volume and not offensive. It's a mixture of light alterna and random subculture faves. (The best was when they played Type O Negative's "Bloody Kisses," the whole album; blast from the past!). Consistency is needed. Finally, they should open later, as in include sleeping bags with a midnight coffee. Really OK: * The people working here: they rock. Well, there's one blase person that seems full of stylish sort of hate, but that could be just me. It's that sense one gets from some cafe employees who were destined for "something greater," who look at those stagnating in their chairs for 4 hours, as I am wont to do, as barnacles, with caffeine as their bitter crutch. * Back to the 'really ok' -- the rest of the baristas are considerate, energetic, and seem intelligent, as conveyed by their occasional conversing about the homework they have to do, and their touch-of-indie attire. The natural surliness inherent in people of possibly acute intelligence, or at least self-awareness, who work at coffee shops as an obvious stepping stone to other self-actualisations, is tempered by sincerity, and a strange willingness to serve. That converse has a pep in its step. They will sometimes offer to put cream into your coffee, which is fab. They have one of those coffee cards that you can get stamped and get a free cup at some point. I keep losing the damn things. * Management: The Korean owners (represent!) don't give me the impression of the ghetto bloodthirsty must-give-the-white-people-what-they-want attitude to running an establishment. They seem pretty chill except listening to the mother yap at the obviously just-escaped model-minority son is chilling, as it continuously makes me think my own mom is in the building about to rip my brains out for not studying hard enough. * The Peeps: It's busy, but not so much that I can't find a seat immediately. The people are studious and not that weird. They are generally clean. Some gleaming eyed older dudes persist, but that's always gonna be the case with cafes; even they, are clean. Almost everyone has a Mac here, which is a good sign. Many of them, I couldn't help but notice as I walk by, seem to be working on Final Cut--which I only see because that's what I'm usually doing--or working on some academic looking shit, which is evidenced by their heaps of paper stacked next to them and the pained look on their faces. Also a state of mind I identify with. In any case, you don't have the rabid myspacers and gamers chillin' here. I'm coming off as a snob, aren't I. *Atmosphere: Minimal, black, if a little generic. Benefits from the lack of typical baroque cafe flourishes; just that multi-umbrella'd seating area outside, which I'll never frequent because it makes me feel like I'm in a carnivalesque Fellini scene. * Food/Drink: The coffee's pretty dece, and inexpensive. I think it could have slightly more flavor in it, like stronger, or something. Not like I really care-- as long as it isn't 7-11. Note: I didn't really get what they meant by "light/dark" at first thinking that it meant "do you want me to put half and half in there" but really it means light/dark house coffee. They offer Korean BBQ option, which is rad. If they offered Caesar salad or all-day breakfast that would be perfection. But you can't have everything.

I go here pretty much everyday for my coffee and wifi. I love this place, and I love the fact that the coffee here is amazing. The guys/gals that work there are always nice to me. I'm a major coffee drinker, I used to really like Starbucks brand, even though the place was so cliche', but... then I found Silverlake Coffee, I've not even been to starbucks in months. I also love that this place gives free wifi. My only downfall here is the eating, which I don't go there to eat anyway, so I wouldn't take a star off for it, but when I have eaten there, I wasn't impressed with the food, and the prices of food is a bit high for what it is. It really doesn't matter though, because I go there for the coffee and atmosphere, and so to me, this place gets 5 stars.

4 stars social/2.5 stars work. My quest for the ultimate java house continues. This time, I go with the added purpose of getting stuff done, so I'll leave two ratings: one for a strictly social call, the other viewed through the lens of my "getting work done" criteria. Criteria 1: THE BREW. The coffee is good, prices are fair and in line with the competition. I'm the "double decaf americano" type of guy when I have to get some work done and Silverlake delivers with flying colors with their organic espressos. For kicks and a treat, I also ordered a macchiato, which I found a bit bitter and over-the-top for my taste. Raw sugar, white refined sugar, and agave syrup (oh, yeah!) are among the "natural" offerings. There's also splenda and both the pink and blue stuff, if you're so inclined. Half-n-half, 2%, cocoa powder, cinnamon powders, napkins, wood stirrers, cups and cold water are also placed for self service. Criteria 2: THE SETTING. There is inside and outside seating. Outside is fine on a nice fall afternoon or evening here in Sunny Southern California, but it can get brisky. You do get the soundtrack of traffic from Glendale Blvd. which can act as white noise. I'd say outdoors is much nicer for chatty social call. Inside, the climate is also pleasant, but I did not find it too conducive to getting my type of work done, which generally involves one or more tines from the reading-thinking-writing trident. For one, the lighting is dim. For another, the music is a bit loud for getting work done. It's decent mix and I would likely enjoy it under any other circumstance. Adding to this, I had a gal sit behind me who was also working, but handled phone calls on her cell phone in a most unreserved way from her table behind mime, so it was yakety-yak, yakety-yak until she left. Interesting how one person's behavior can affect the overall quality of a setting. (Lady, common courtesy teaches us to be aware of our surroundings and act in accordance to the context that everyone shares. This isn't a phone booth -remember those?- and folks in a coffee house are tolerant of a few brief calls if you must talk as if you were the only one in the room, but we don't need to hear about your business.) I digress, and that's hence my point about a setting less conducive to getting my type of work done. There are some small tables with straight back, wood chairs, some placed for two, others placed for 6 or so, cafeteria-style. There are a couple of couches to lounge on as well. It's a cyber-friendly place, with free (and hassle-free) wi-fi. You may have to ask other patrons to scoot over for just a sec to reach (or find) a power outlet as they are not evenly distributed along the wall. 9 out of 10 patrons were on their laptops, with occasional soft conversations that were not disruptive. I did notice that the true conversationalists were seated outside for the most part. There is one bathroom, very clean. Criteria 3: THE SERVICE. Very friendly, low-key. Like most coffee houses of the same breed, you order at the counter and your cashier is also your barista. Hang out for a few minutes, they call your order and you pick up at the counter. "It's that easy! Fácil, ¿eh?" Criteria 4: THE PARKING: A separate criteria for parking? Yeah, it's that important to me. I am a driver and don't mind cross-country rallying, but I also appreciate being able to get in and out in a jiffy, no hassle. no stress. Don't mind walking a bit if the 'hood is safe. Valets and overpriced garage/lot parking aren't my thing. Silverlake has neither of them: it's FREE parking in a off-street lot right next to the building, or street parking (metered) if you can find it. After work on a weekday, I found a good place to park right in the lot. It can fill up pretty quickly once their neighbor Gingergrass (I'm still working on my review for it) opens for dinner service. Miscellanea: Loose leaf tea, for diversity. No bottomless glass of ice tea during my visit. Pastries and sandwiches available. A jalapeño cheese bagel with lox cream cheese put a $5 dent on my wallet. The bagel came toasted (perfect for the jalapeño cheese!) and the cream cheese had real lox chunks (not just merely an orange "lox flavored" cream cheese.) Omelets available in the a.m. only. Credit cards OK. They one of those "buy 12 get one free" cards that you can stamp with every coffee purchase... typical of me, don't know what I did with mine already. Verdict for play: As a social coffee joint to with friends or just chill over good java and friendly service, "Yay! I'm a fan." Verdict for work: Dim lighting and loud music make it hard to get my type of work done, despite the hassle-free wi-fi generally-pleasant ambiance, so it's just a few clicks north of "Meh. I've experienced better."

alright, i've been back a couple more times and have to give this place one more star. the service has been great both times i've been back, as has the coffee. today i tried the korean bbq panini, and it was awesome. i'll be back for that again for sure. the side salad was also good... a nice mix of greens (with no iceberg lettuce in sight) plus some carrots, tomatoes, and onions. balsamic dressing was good too, and it's nice that it comes on the side by default.

My drink of choice is an iced soy latte and since I've moved back to Echo Park, I've been on the search for the best coffee shop. Silverlake Coffee is definitely good. Their iced coffee is very flavorful. The iced latte was not too sweet. My one complaint about coffee shops, is most of them in Echo Park/Silverlake do not have a parking lot and you're forced to drive around to look for street parking. Silverlake Coffee does have a parking lot which is very convenient. The atmosphere is pleasant and mellow. Overall good experience.

Two years later, I have to update this to five stars. It's the best blend of coffee and atmosphere in my neighborhood. And music! I love great coffee. I love free wifi. Other plusses here are the good vibe, nice decor and indoor/outdoor seating. I've never eaten here so I can't rate on that, but it's the best coffee I've found in the neighborhood!

Probably one of my favorite places to study and enjoy a soy latte. Since the majority of customers there are consumed with their laptops just as much as I am, I feel very comfortable staying there for hours to take advantage of their free wi-fi. This place is great to study at because if I ever get hungry, I could just get their cranberry turkey sandwich (rather than a fattening pastry). Lastly, this place has a free parking lot! The only qualms I have against this place is that the lighting inside is pretty dim so reading can be difficult, but I just go outside and enjoy the CA sunshine. Also, the music is a bit of a crap shoot since it really depends on the employee who has control of iTunes that day. I also don't recommend their chai ( I like spice chai better) or their vanilla latte...they just left a bad after taste. I've had both multiple tries and each time was a disappointment. But their tea selection is large and their smoothies all look really good.

I love this place, and I don't even drink coffee. It gives me a tummy ache. However, it is pleasant, the people who work here are cool and friendly and not snobby. They have free wifi. They offer a good tea selection. I wrote the majority of my master's thesis in here. They will let you sit for hours. I love people watching in Silverlake. Great cross-section of humans up in Silverlake. Also, do NOT sit at the table next to the cold drinks fridge. Everytime someone takes out and Arizona Iced Tea or whatevers, the door SLAMS shut next to your head and you feel like screaming. No one even has to slam it. It slams itself, spitefully. It might be mad that it is not human. Have you read that short story by Stepehen King, "The Mangler"? No? Well, it is about an industrial ironing and folding machine that becomes possessed by the Devil due to ingesting blood of a virgin and some Hand of Glory. It breaks free and starts roaming the streets killing people. IMO, that cold drinks fridge is about 1 helping short of some Hand of Glory before it breaks free and starts murdering people. Although I am unsure where in Silverlake it located the blood of a virgin. Aside from that, I love Silverlake Coffee Co.

I spent the entire afternoon here one Friday in August, sipping tea, hacking on my PowerBook and munching on the odd piece of cake. The quality of both was fine but a tad on the pricy side. But really, I can't complain; they gave me a nice, quiet place to work and let me stay for five hours with nary a word. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be back.

Mom and pop coffee houses rule! Good coffee, chill vibe, vegan friendly food, I dig it ; )
This is the best iced coffee in LA. SLC's mixed iced coffee is always a good decision (so is their espresso banana smoothie). The food is yummy too. The staff is friendly. The music is always enjoyable. AND free wifi. You can't go wrong. :)

Best food (suprisingly great!) for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The baristas and owners are very cool. (duh, dont try to get in lengthy conversation when they are jam packed full). Coffee = best ever. Smoothies = better than Jamba juice and healthier too. WiFi = free. Tons of musicians, locals, actors, screen writers typing and working inside and outside. Pretty good parking. Prices are reasonable. They didnt raise their prices despite everyone else bilking during these hyperinflation times. The owner Steven and son Larry are the best ever. They even punch a card and you get a free drink after a dozen visits (anything you desire!!) The music and atmosphere is great. Very roomy. Some patrons are there every time i go in. They keep the air conditioning cranked inside most of the time so bring a light sweater if you get cold easily. Air is fresh. Clean. I totally dig this place. Starbucks down the street is way too corporate and lame. All the locals go to Silverlake Coffee. It blows away Intelligenicia Coffee (which is run like a yuppy wanna be hipsta overpriced non sense coffee sweatshop. As i type this im eating at Silverlake Coffee and drinking a delish iced coffee. Refill is a buck. = )

It's funny how your standards for a coffeehouse change when you're looking for free wi-fi. The more nondescript and less distracting a place, the better. By those standards Silverlake Coffee Co is great. It's kind of like an emptier version of Psychobabble. But if you're looking for a place to hang out with any sort of atmosphere or character, I'd look elsewhere. Wasn't a huge fan of the coffee here, and the kid behind the counter always looks a little confused by the task at hand.

K go here too often to not give it 5 stars. While not necessarily a 5 star cup of coffee, they make solid espresso drink, and are a fun place to hang and work. Lots of good people watching, I wish I still lived nearby.

this unassuming little joint doesn't look like much from outside. sure, a nice patio and free parking but i can get that at most cafes i love-to-hate (ehem...sbux). but u walk in and it's dark, there is free wi-fi, black and white photographs set against a maroon painted wall...their chalkboard actually looks like someone wrote on it and that sbux didn't just send a fake with instructions on how to put it up. the coffee is good, 7 of 9 people have macs (so i'm an apple snob, sue me), and i don't feel rushed, i feel relaxed. no blog post, just a statement. find me here. mymodernmet.com

This place has great, affordable drinks. I haven't really tried the food yet (other than a toasted bagel) but it all looks delish. Fast, friendly & plenty of table space to sprawl out & work for hours, without being scenester-y. It's what I'm looking for in a coffee shop, and is sometimes pretty difficult to find in the Silver Lake area. Oh, & the patio is perfect for those with doggies. And thank your lucky stars for all the parking. Yay for non-metered lots!

this place doesnt have amazing drinks or food and it doesnt insinuate that it does. people here keep to themselves and its just an unpretentious coffee shop where you can get pastries and sandwiches that are kinda bad/mediocre/whatever and you can get drinks that are pretty decent. its usually full of individual students on laptops and who will tolerate your talking but move when another table opens, but the outside area is big. FYI ive been scalded by the hot water from the bathroom sink like 5x

Nice, comfortable. Good seating inside and out. Free wifi. Espresso a little overdrawn but good quality. Beats the other cafes I've tried in the area. update: what was i thinking? not so good coffee. that's what counts most for me. like the wifi, but quality, quality, quality. Compare the coffee at Cafe Balcony.

Really good Korean BBQ Panini's. I was a little uncertain, but I'm sold after I took a bite into heaven. Coffee is really good too. Blueberry Banana smoothies are amazing. Silver Lake scramble for breakfast was my breakfast meal for 3 days in a row. People are super friendly and down to earth too. Looove it.

Comfortable, nice patio, not pretentious, good coffee and great bagels (they get them from Brooklyn Bagel Bakery on Beverly, which is the best bagel bakery in all of LA -- the most authentic NY-style bagel bakery). The free wifi is very nice, too. Only two complaints: the menu is a bit limited, but I can understand why the want to keep it simple; and I wish they stayed open later.

great iced coffee. always fast. i think i had a brekie sandwich here once that was fine. this is within viewing distance of the starbucks on glendale and fletcher, so i don't know why anyone would opt for that when this local joint is right down the road. and frankly better.

Love this place! The patio is perfect for catching up with friends, reading a book, studying, or just having a nice cup of coffee. Great atmosphere and good crowd...free wiifii and outlets outside (so clutch). Drinks are good, I have only had the iced coffee and I love it. Food is great too (good breakfast sandwiches and lunch specials).

The food, coffee, and pastries are pretty good. They even serve breakfast on the weekend. BUT this cute, cozy, unassuming little joint that people have been talking about has been overrun by wankers (and wankettes) and their f-ing laptops. It's where laptops and their owners go to hang out and check out other laptops. I walked in recently, walked around, and walked right out when I realized there was no where to sit. I would have felt awkward breaking out my book anyway.

did some reading here for a change of scenery and it was perfect a bit annoyed a smoker's ashes got into my cappucino as we were sitting in the tiered tables and he was above me -but that wasn't the cafe's fault.

In fairness I only have the mint tea while I'm here. The wifi is free, it's true, and there is ample seating, even on a weekend afternoon - but with about 30 people on the same connection - it's slow. And the bookstore next store is now closed. Boo.

I still continue to love most things about this joint save for one. All of the employees are super nice and genuinely pleasant EXCEPT FOR the mopey, bitter, half depressed, bitchy attitude chick with dark hair that works mostly during the weekdays. Her negative energy really doesn't fit in with the rest of the staff. If I walk in and see her...I turn around and go to Starbucks. Too bad...Starbucks coffee doesn't compare, but who needs Silvia Plathe to bring down your day when you just want a cup of joe?
(4)
Oliver W.
The coffee here is excellent. Haven't had a bad cup yet. Everything is easily accessible. Always plenty of sugar, milk, non-fat milk, soy milk, etc etc... on hand. It's the little things that you don't necessarily notice that make it great. Sometimes the line at the counter can be 7 people to 10 people deep. But, it moves quickly and smoothly. They have a frequent drinker card... excellent. And their food is decent. They actually have pretty good omlettes. But, the one thing that makes this place special... I was eating breakfast and enjoying my large mocha (hot, mind you... not iced... iced is for wussies) and probably acting hyper. And I knocked over a 3/4 full cup. All over the floor. It was embarassing. But... as I went to grab some napkins to attempt a shoddy job of cleaning... a mop and a bucket appeared with one of the owners cleaning it up. I asked if I could do it since it was my mistake. I am horrendeously clumsy... I knock things over all the time. He refused my help. He even brought me a new coffee... filled to the brim mind you... that sold me. I walked straight over to the tip jar and placed a crisp 5 dollar bill in there... something I like to call karma.

I preface this by saying that it's been over a year since I've been to SLCC. When I lived in Silverlake, this was my second home. More than just a cuppa joe, SLCC is all about community: free wifi, good coffee and sandwiches, and neighborhood feel. All sorts of laptoppers dominate the space, which is okay if you can snag a table. Otherwise, it's a great Starbucks alternative for a drink on the go. And since the neighborhood got all fancy, take your coffee and wander across the street to the super Silverlake Wine shop (not there when I was in LA) and the Silverlake legend, Rockaway Records.

The Coffee is good. The Sandwiches are good. The Smoothies are good. But what really makes SILVERLAKE COFFEE stand out are the people behind the counter. There's a personal attention and an off-beat idiosyncratic atmosphere here that makes it more like hanging with good friends than just placing an order. The kids behind the counter remind one more and more of the Seven Dwarves, each with their own personalities and quirks that they bring to work with them each day. There's Grumpy the hard to get to know but so worth the effort Grande Dam of the mostly female crew; Sluggish the sweet faced naif, Left-field the cute, quirky non-sequitoress, The Commandant the shorn-headed post-military good-cop/bad-cop and countless other equally distinct personalities. And that's just behind the counter. Highly recommended. Especially if you have a sense of humor.

This place is a gem in Silverlake. Appropriately priced coffee, friendly staff, fast service, great food, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, tons of outlets, free wifi, and a non-pretentious environment. Skip Dinosaur and Intelliwhatever and come here instead.

GREAT ambiance and study spot! I went to Silverlake Coffee on a Saturday morning, and it was already super crowded, so if you're looking for a table, definitely get there on the early side. They've got their own parking lot in the back, which definitely drew me to the place considering I'm terrible at street parking. I wanted to study with a couple friends, so we found it easy to put some tables together inside, but they've got some great outdoor seating on their patio as well. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu (it's on a bunch of blackboards behind the counter), so I asked the barista to give me a recommendation, and I'm SO glad I listened to him - I got the Hawaiian bread sliders, which had egg, ham, and cheese in them, and you got four for only $5! I also got an iced latte and then later in the day got one of their house brewed iced espresso drinks, which was really sweet, so if you're into that, go for it. The internet is a little spotty at times, and there's no phone service otherwise, so that's the only downside that got me a little frustrated and ready to leave earlier than I would have wanted to. But they have a great music selection, and the food and drinks are superb at extremely reasonable prices!

They offer good coffee and a good variety of baked goods and sandwiches. I ordered a simple veggie wrap, which came with an equally simple side salad. The wrap was on a spinach tortilla with some cheese, tons of veggies including avocado chunks, salt & pepper, and mustard and mayo. There really was nothing special or exotic about the wrap, but it tasted fresh and good. Something simple can be quite comforting. Everyone here seems to hang out with a laptop (lots of Mac users) and enjoys a cup of coffee/pastries/breakfast sandwiches, etc. I'll definitely be back for something simple yet delicious!

The coffee is good if you don't mind waiting for twice as long as Starbucks . Also, getting a bagel takes forever . For some reason people are taking sh*ts in this bathroom non-stop. Always a line. Full of hipster douchebags, but you can't really hold that against the place .

I'm not sure how to rate this place. I ordered espresso and it came out black and tasting like burnt beans. It was so bad I sent it back. They were ok with me sending it back, and the second double shot was decent. However, they are inconsistent in their quality which doesn't really lend me to give them a very good review. Also they didn't have soda water to go with the espresso which is something I like to have and most good places provide. I've had better.

Well. Alright, the people here definitely seem tired...and yeah, probably would rather be somewhere else. I've asked some questions very politely before about what's in something because of diet restrictions, and they looked at me like I just told them they had to work 4 hours extra that night. Also $6 for a small coffee and an iced coffee seems slightly silly to me, but it's Silver Lake, I'll deal.

This is a solid little coffee shop in Silverlake. Though they don't have the most erudite brews or the quirkiest lattes, it's a solid place for a caffeinated drink. I like this place moreso for the delicious breakfast treats you can get here - seriously, their sliders on hawaiian bread are the best way to start the day. I come here mainly out of convenience (one of my best friends lives about 30 seconds away) but if you're looking for a not-chain place for a cup of joe, you may want to give Silverlake Coffee a whirl.

Bathroom review: Funny paintings. Clean enough. Yay breakfast burrito! Mostly stable wifi. Possibly the only coffee shop in los Angeles with a parking lot.

I offer my favorite local coffee house five stars... I guess you can call me byes, I've been coming here since day one or was it two??? None the less thank you Silverlake coffee for always being a staple in our wonderful, now hipster infested community. The vibe is pleasant and the ambience homey. Sandwiches, bagels, and pastries are delicious... The coffee and tea drinks are also delicious. Breakfast wasn't always served here but now rivals Ricks, Home, and Denny's for breakfast supremacy in the area... So if your in Silverlake stop by and check it out...

I camp out here to work at least a couple times a week, even though I live closer to some of the other coffee shops in the area. The staff is friendly, the food is tasty and reasonably priced, the costumers generally have a good vibe. They have a front patio so you can bring your dog or meet friends. Inside definitely has a more studious vibe. Wifi is pretty reliable. There's a parking lot (with an attendent), where you can stash your car for 2 hours before the attendant hunts you down. Be nice to him though - he'll also help you roll your car out of your parking spot when AAA has to give you a jump. ;-) 5 stars for a reliably good experience every time I'm here.
The woman who took my order was unpleasant to me and a few other people I observed. My boyfriend's breakfast had hairs in it. Mine was just ok and the bread was unbuttered because apparently that costs extra? Yikes! I've given this place MANY shots as I live around the corner and am diligent about supporting local businesses. Sad to have to travel further for something so simple as eggs and toast.

Love this place! I've been coming here for years, and it has never disappointed. I know the whole staff and every one is super nice. Great food and drinks. Everything you'd want out of your neighborhood cafe! Hey, Larry! :-) :-):-)

We were driving through on our way to an event north of here, and we had time and I was hungry, so I looked on Yelp to find a coffee shop type of place that served food. It was about 1045 am on a Saturday. This place is pretty close to the freeway and seemed reasonably priced with decent reviews, so we stopped. Ambience: Goateed man sitting next to the bathroom underlining sentence after sentence of MY STRUGGLE, BOOK 1: check. Women in overall shorts and trilbys who block the aisle and let doors close in your face: check Loud conversation concerning somebody getting thanked in a friend's album liner notes: check Man who lights up a cigarette next to you, despite the NO SMOKING sign: check People with laptops doing more looking around than working: check Kids: Absent Seating: indoor couches and tables; outdoor tables with nice trees, flowers, umbrellas Hipster Level: 10/10 Food: It's cooked on individual burners, so it takes a long time when it's busy (15-20 minutes for me). If you're in a hurry, get something that requires no cooking. Husband got a turkey sandwich, which took less than 5 minutes to receive, and was done with it before I got my food (he reported it as "nothing to write home about.") I got the Silverlake Scramble: scrambled eggs, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, pieces of ham deli meat. It had no seasoning at all. Well, I had them hold the cheese, so maybe that provided the majority of the taste. It came with some small greasy also-bland red potatoes that seemed to be steamed, then lightly fried but not crispy-- they were just sort of oily. Coffee: I got an iced latte and it was very good. Service: I think they do the best they can with their set-up, but it seems like they're not set-up very well for the menu and volume they provide. The man who helped us was friendly and told me that my eggs would take a while longer, so I wasn't just standing there waiting forever, which I appreciated. Parking; Has its own lot, yay. Verdict:2.5, rounded to 3.

The lady who took our order is a bit short and snippy. May have gotten her on a bad day. Anyways... The food was good. The iced mocha was refreshing and yummy. I had the Old Style Plate. Can't go wrong with eggs, bacon, and sausage. The environment is cozy. A great place to enjoy brunch on a sunny day. Their patio is cozy and pet friendly.

My first time here and I goof'd up ordering but Adrian and Eli totally took care of me and made me feel welcome like a regular. With the chill atmosphere, good eats and the great staff, I will be here often. Nice job, guys!

The feeling of this coffee shop is cozy, welcoming, and very friendly. I've been here a couple of times, and each time I was completely satisfied. The staff was helpful and patient answering all my nonsensical questions, which I'm glad, because I'm not a well functioning drone until I've had my coffee. The food is tastey, healthy, and there's a variety of options for the non-dairy consumers, so the price is expected. The bagels are not a disappointment, and we even got the background story of these bagels from the humorous lady I assumed was running the place. Music was pretty diverse and awesome, going against your typical coffee shop music. Staff members have their own set list playing, which I find intriguing. I'm definitely coming back and bringing friends.

Awesome place to hole up and get some work done. Food is good but not great. Their bagels/bagel sandwiches will get the job done.

I would give zero if it was possible, it is an absolutely awful place with horrible tea and pastry. On top of it all extremely rude manager. Don't waist your money.

Things this coffee/cafe shop has in its favor: 1. It's close to home; 2. Not as overrun as the Starbucks up the street; 3. Has ample plugs both inside and outside; 4. The noise level is not bad; 5. They let you sit and work without any hassle. Things this place does not offer: 1. Great coffee/teas; 2. Great food; 3. Friendly customer service; 4. Cleanliness-I had to wipe my own table. Depending on what you want, choose accordingly. When I just want something warm/cold to drink and a space to get some work done on my devices, this is a good go-to spot. When I want ambience, friendliness from staff, and better coffee and teas, I'll travel elsewhere.

NEW EMPLOYEES! Their faces! They curl upwards! You know, like, in a smile! I don't know who the new girl is that works behind the register but I want to jump over the counter and give her the biggest hug on the planet. I flew over here the other morning to get my husband some coffee and a chocolate croissant since he was feeling pretty under the weather. The new girl was incredibly attentive and FAST. I got my coffee in probably 2-3 minutes, much quicker than the 7-10 I was previously waiting when I would come here. Message to the owner: you've made a fantastic choice by getting some fresh faces in there. Now, if only I could order from your cook before 8AM. I would eat all the things!

My home away from home, the only reason I haven't reviewed this place yet is because I am rarely on yelp. I have been a daily customer of SLC for years, and I love it. Great staff, great ambience, free wifi, but most of all the BEANS ARE SO DARN TASTY. Where do you get those Larry? I live just two blocks away and have to exercise my self control daily as to not over caffein-ate myself because I just love to drink this coffee so much. Thanks for all the great cups of joe, guys! Oh, the food is actually really tasty also. I like the chinese chicken salad, the paninis, and the bagel and croissants.

The coffee is bomb, the patio is LA, the decor isn't the best but the independent atmosphere makes up for that in spades! Bring a book, or some work, and you can enjoy it for hours!

Words cannot express how much I love this coffee shop, but I'll certainly try. It's a great space both indoor and outdoor. They offer several couches and tables for chilling or working. There's also a parking lot with plenty of parking spaces and a back entrance to the shop. I absolutely love the iced coffee. I'm pretty die-hard about my vanilla iced coffee, they use Monin syrup which is 100 times better than Torani in my opinion. I also like their drip coffee, I usually go for the light roast because it has more caffeine ;) If you're in the mood for a snack, the breakfast is AWESOME. You can build your own breakfast sandwich for around $4, it's so reasonable and sooo delicious. I also really like the coffee cake in the display case, it's super tasty :)

We had a bad customer service experience with the owner, Larry. We did not get the order we wanted. So we ended up standing at the counter for ten minutes while Larry was training a new employee. He saw us and kept putting his finger up as if to say "wait," and we got the impression that he was hoping we would simply leave so he wouldn't have to talk to us. We stuck it out and he didn't apologize for making us wait or for getting our order wrong. Nor did he offer to make the order right. This is not the way to run a business.

Cute little coffee shop in Silverlake. Best of all, ample parking, friendly service, and plenty of tables with outlets, if you're there to study or do some work. Typical eclectic Silverlake crowd. A+

Staff was snotty when I returned a piece of "banana bread" that had the flavor and texture of sawdust. This happened at 4:45 pm, just now, today 2/12/015 (in case the owner reads these). Two young males were working. When I brought the bread back to the counter, explained why I was returning it, the skinny one with glasses muttered "great!" The other male. employee got defensive and stated "we didn't bake it". No apologies or suggestions made as to what I might like to order instead. Been here many times. 3 stars for selling Diet Coke, not being as busy as Starbucks, and the wifi. That's about it.
(3)
Jeremy M.
I work just across the street from here and me and my co-workers have ordered over the phone for pick up plenty of times. I just called to place an over the phone order for pick up and was told that they don't normally take phone orders and that it was too busy for him to do that for me. WHAT??? I've done this so many times. I'll give two stars because I at least like the food here but I'm just a bit thrown off by the refusal of my order. Really disappointed.

My go-to place if I need Wifi and power outlets 2-3 stars for food/drinks 5 stars for location, parking, space I moved to this neighborhood about a month ago, and love frequenting this establishment on my days off. I'm an early bird and there's not many places that are open at 6:30! Don't come for the food/drinks. It's not bad, but not amazing. But they do have cool vegan and gluten free baked goods that support local businesses. Prices reflect the quality, ie $2 iced tropical tea, $2 lox bagel (with barely any salmon) Plentiful indoor and outdoor seating, dog-friendly outdoor patio, lots of outlets and speedy wifi. Service can be slow but after you order, you can take a seat outside (or inside) and they will call your order out via in-ceiling speakers. Enjoy spending hours here without being pestered by the staff. Easy parking - there's a lot in the back but there's no problem finding street parking. If you need a change of scene, you can easily walk over to the silver lake meadow (relaxed book reading) or silver lake library (laptop & Internet) depending on your needs..

Would have given 5 but the fact you cannot substitute your meals are kind of off putting especially if you have certain allergens to some foods. Other than great vibe good taste

Great coffee, great space, great location. I enjoy the double iced vanilla with non-fat milk. There's lots of place to sit/work inside and out. There's also a large parking lot and street parking. It's located by fun bars, shops and restaurants in Silverlake, which makes it a convenient location.

Silverlake Coffee House is a wonderful and hidden gem. As an LA Native, I have been and seen many of the go-to restaurants and coffee-houses around here change and turn into corporate monsters. Silverlake Coffee is family owned and the staff is beyond gracious and accommodating. Consistency is the keyword for this coffee-lover and every time I am able to stop in I am never disappointed. Once again I can't mention enough how great the staff is! You never feel pressured or rushed and that is very important to me. Mister Larry (the owner of this establishment) provides a safe and comfortable place to come to unwind, bond with people, and even get away from your normal routine to just relax. Side note: the food is delicious! My personal go-to is the breakfast english muffin. So good! If you get the chance you should definitely give this place a try. 5 stars in my book because I have never had a bad experience coming to this place. A hidden gem that delivers without the B.S. Thank you Silverlake Coffee for existing!

I thought I should update my previous review as it has been awhile and I now have some lunches here as well. Try the make it to order sandwich or if you are on a budget or not that hungry, the half sandwich. My favorite is ham and cheddar on a cheese and onion bagel. Also, don't forget to try the smoothies if you want an alternative to the great coffees.

Coffee was good--the vibe was chill but holy crap they are slow like molasses. I mean SLOW, S-L-O-W. Honestly I couldn't enjoy my cup of joe and bag o'beans, all that was marqueeing through my brain was "I really want to get behind the counter and help you--this is ridiculous". The two folks manning the fort really had no desire to rush--sure, take your time, I'm just going to stand here and wait 10 minutes before I can get a drip coffee black and pay for my beans... Free parking and free wifi--how sad that I somehow expect these as standard offerings of service for a coffeehouse. Damn I'm such a snoot...

Why is it so hard to get a decent cup of coffee for a decent price in a cool place? Silverlake coffee meets all three criteria. Their veggie sandwich (for less than 5 bucks!) has become my go-to... it's a good place to get work done... no bells or whistles here, just what the doctor ordered!
(5)

Wowwww the coffee here is so good. It's also a great place to grab a breakfast bagel when you're in a rush ... But really, come here for the delicious coffee

Excellent study location with ample seating, access to outlets and free wifi. Delicious lattes and iced tea. I've had breakfast here (huge breakfast burritos!!) and lunch (tuna sandwich on a toasted croissant. Great food, delicious coffee, and big enough to study with friends.
(5)
Erica D.
Been here multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. They have amazing breakfast burritos, their brewed teas are delicious, and have enjoyed their lattes. I also tried the bagels, which were yummy! They have a variety of options for fair prices. Also free wifi that is fast. I went there during bar prep over summer and the wifi was fast enough to stream my lectures! I also like the patio area that is large and you can bring your dog, which is important to me :) I do wish they used real salsa instead of the canned Pace Picante brand grossness, but otherwise everything is very good!

meh. The food is good but the ambiance in the mornings is depressing. Even after ordering my food and tipping, the only half-assed smile i got was from the cook as she handed me my bagel which i had sadly just watched her completely crush - first while she was spreading cream cheese onto it with entirely too much force, then she literally put the bagel back together and smashed it once more with her hand before putting it in the bag. I'll probably keep going here because the price is good and its right beside the freeway, but i guess I'm just hoping someone reads this and encourages his/her employees to pretend to care... Until I get a smile and a friendly greeting, my $1 tip per day will be withheld. Also take my advice and order your cream cheese on the side.

The shaded Patio seating is awesome to enjoy the Iced latte on this breezy & cool Sunday afternoon. Free wifi is always welcomed. The baked goods & sandwiches are delicious. All in all, I'm digging this place.

When I'm on the search for a coffee shop where I can GSD, I look for: -Ample seating available (check) -Indoor/outdoor seating, because I like the option of soaking up the sun (check) -Dependable WIFI (check) -Power outlets (check) -Decent-to-good coffee drinks (check) -Good food (check) -Friendly staff (check) I think I've found a good low-key, go-to spot for those days I just need to be productive, especially while I'm in grad school. This coffee shop has everything that I just listed, so if you're searching for those things, this place provides that. Oh, and they have a big parking lot for customers too! The parking lot was full when I was there (because they share with another restaurant), but there is a residential neighborhood right behind the cafe that I was easily able to get a spot. My drink was only okay (Iced Blend Mocha), but I did enjoy the Turkey Panini that I had for lunch. Lots of drinks and food to pick from though, so I'll be back to explore them. I might also try sitting outside; whereas a lot of places have their outdoor seating on the sidewalk right on the street, this place has several large bushes/trees that sort of separate the outdoor seating from the sidewalk, so you can still enjoy outdoor seating but not feeling like you're fully exposed to everything happening outside the cafe. Finally, not sure who picks the music, but whoever did played "North by Northwest" by Blue Scholars, one of my favorite songs! THIS song in a random coffee shop in LA? This Seattlelite approves!

This coffee shop was awesome. Good coffee & good seating. The patio has multiple levels and lots of plants.

How is this even a functional coffee shop? Second time I've come by here in the morning and they're closed. Sign says they're open at 7am, it's 730... Don't come here if you're looking for a reliable spot for morning coffee.
(1)

Mixed Iced Coffee. Every time I'm in LA, I come here for it. It's the best iced coffee I've ever had. The best. The staff are great, the breakfast is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed.
(5)
Mister W.
Always a good iced latte to be had here. I imagine it's tough keeping people out of the other coffee spots and getting them into yours. I usually stop by if I'm near. Convent to lots of things I like in the neighborhood and not over-doing it on the pretentiousness, I like the coffee. There is a strong earth mother vibe with a quite a few yoga mats in tow, but I keeps eye on the coffee prize and I'm fine.
(4)
Lilian T.
I ordered the ice vanilla latte and it was just alright. It didn't have enough of expresso flavor. It'd really dark inside, but there's outside seating available.

Here is the most apt analogy I can think of for this place: Silverlake Coffee Co : PCs :: Chango : Macs That's all.

Good indoor/outdoor seating. Coffee is actually decent. And from me, that's a compliment. Not a lot of food options for gluten free though.

Let me set the scene: 8:00-8:30 AM, day after Christmas, my wife and I decide to venture out to a new location to work on our writing project. She's excited to try somewhere new in a part of town that we do not live in, but she loves. I don't really care where we go. We are very pleased to find a parking lot with plenty of space, so things get off to a good start. One family outside, only one or two single people at tables inside. Nice - not crowded. However, as we walk in there are three people standing behind the counter who seem to be more interested in playing a particular song over the sound system than anything else. All three look at us as we walk in, none of them say anything to us. I continue my routine: I stake out a table, unpack our laptops, while my wife stays at the counter to order our drinks. When I look up, she is still standing there, one woman standing right in front of my wife, looking at her, the other guy and girl have moved farther away. Still, no one has said a thing to us. I don't believe that I am mistaken in my assumption that it is customary to give customers a pleasant greeting when one enters a place of business. Sure, my wife could've said something to them, but by now she is feeling uncomfortable and that they do not want us there. Easy fix - we leave. Now we sit in one of our go-to places: Priscilla's in Burbank, thoroughly enjoying ourselves, even though I feel it necessary to take time out of my day to post this review in hopes that I may dissuade someone who is thinking about going to Silverlake Coffee for the first time. Don't bother. Go to Priscilla's instead (4150 W. Riverside Drive, Burbank 91505). You just might be greeted pleasantly by all who work there, and be offered a free sample of cake, as we were.

Kinda dingy cafeteria feel, but I like it. They have good teas. Haven't tried the coffee yet.
(4)
Dean E.
The bagel was pretty skimpy on cream cheese/lox, and they served me my macchiato in a giant to-go cup (which kinda ruins the whole thing, yknow) even though they handed me the bagel on a ceramic plate (aka obvs 'for here'). On the plus they have a dog-friendly patio and the prices are really great. Just maybe be specific about how you want your drink served I guess.

Silverlake Coffee is ideal for a relaxed study or hang out session. A large, well-priced drink menu, paired with tasty pastries and some legit food as well makes for a well-rounded place to settle down for a while. Free wifi, outlets, indoor and outdoor seating, and lots of it. The mixed ice coffee is particularly good, and they have tasty blended drinks. The staff and also the customers are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is ideal for studying or reading (plus the library is right across the street). This is a place I come to with all my friends, would definitely recommend.

Their food is good, I had Korean BBQ wrap it was okay. I like the spot because they have WiFi and I can go and relax for hours to get away and do my work. I will probably be back again.

this is my go-to in silver lake when i want to study or read and have a good coffee while i'm at it. there's a private parking lot, but i usually walk there with my dog and sit outside. there are plenty of outside tables and i never have trouble finding a seat. there are also plenty of tables inside and outlets to juice up. they make every coffee imaginable. free unlimited wifi. nice, friendly staff. fast service. food: they offer breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, desserts and cookies. all fresh! i usually get the breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage and a caramel iced latte with whipped cream. they even have a card to reward repeat customers! great, laidback, convenient place to sit and work, sit and chat, or sit and stare. it's less pretentious and way more affordable than la mill down the street.

Such a great coffee shop! It is a very roomy and very nice coffee shop with free wifi. I went one morning for some breakfast and to get some studying done. I ended up getting a veggie breakfast burrito and a au lait coffee. What I didn't know what that breakfast started at 8AM, so I had to wait a little bit before getting my food, The breakfast burrito very delicious! The coffee was more so on a 3 star level, but oh my goodness, breakfast is awesome here. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast on a lazy morning. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. So, this is the perfect spot for a relaxing morning!

I'll give this spot 4 stars because the staff is super nice, coffee is good, and their bagels are awesome. That being said... The place is infested with people furiously clicking away on their laptops. Writing their scripts, or novels, in reality just checking their F***ing Facebook page, constantly peering over their screens to see if whoever just walked in might be a good networking mark. This might sound angry, so full disclosure here, I'm not a huge fan of people in general. So really, just my bad for living in Los Angeles. Who knew I was the bad guy the whole time? I feel like Liv Schreiber. This is a kind of long review. I should have written it at silverlake coffee.

This little place is in a great location across from other Silverlake small businesses Rockaway Records & The Runway Boutique on Glendale Blvd. Also within walking distance to the Silverlake Library. They also the rare and coveted non-valet parking lot (score)! I recently stumbled upon this place. It has a nice multi-level patio area in the front with lots of seating. The coffee is great, the tea is great and the bagels and pastries are great. The prices are affordable for the quality of brew and tea they are serving. If there is room for improvement it would be in the decor (looks very dingy, or Silverlakers would say: "Bohemian"). The couches they have in there are shredded and look like they belong out by the dumpster... Disrespectful to assume any person from any walk of life would want to pay to sit on them. They should nix the lunch menu and stick to the bagels... The sandwiches (we had the Korean BBQ & Ham/Cheese) were ho-hum. I think it would have been a 3 star experience if I just ordered coffee/tea to take away

I go here often because the space is so nice, but as a cafe this place is maybe the worst I've ever been to. The coffee is terrible, the food is abysmal. It's hilarious because they don't even try and hide it. They have three hot plates and slap together stuff you could make better at home with plain old ingredients. They take no care, and don't buy quality food. Their Korean BBQ sandwich was disgusting, filled with old, gristly, cold, overcooked steak. The staff is also super weird and rude. Again, the space is amazing. Always a free table, indoor and outdoor options, plugs, everyone is chill. Just be clear that this is a great place to get work done, but not to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or cafe menu item.
(3)
Josh C.
Not worth waisting your time... Coffee is ok at best, the layout is bad and they have back of house in the front of house. Think the owner does paperwork and pays bills in prime spot to serve guests. Food was bland and not good. Lots if people working on computers so if that's what your looking for this is the spot. The outdoor seating is nice but that and the location are all this place has going for it.

I live on Fletcher (the other side of San Fernando) and was looking for a cool spot, other than Starbucks to sit and write. I found SilverLake Coffee and figured it would work since it's not too far from me. I read the reviews and saw there was a free parking lot. I got there around 10:30 a.m. It was very easy to find parking in the lot. I went inside to find a seat, but it was too full so I grabbed a coffee and went on the outside patio. Around noon I decided to get a sandwich and asked the cashier for a cup of water. She pointed out a small cooler on the milk and sugar table where I was to get water from. The cooler looked very unpleasant and would not please my thirst for ice cold water so I just stayed with my luke warm bottled water. At one point I saw a female customer sitting by me get up and move her car from one space to another. I thought it was odd but didn't think too much about it at the time. I stayed until 3:30 and when I went to my car there was a note taped to my drivers side window which said "Final Warning, This lot is two hour parking only. Next time your car will be towed." Since I live too far from Silver Lake Coffee to walk, and will not move my car every two hours when I want to sit and write all day, it is safe to say that I won't be returning to his spot.

I've been coming here for years. My wife (then girlfriend) worked here for 5 years in the early 2000s. This was before Silver Lake was considered hip. There were homeless dudes that used to come to the coffee shop to buy coffee after a day of dumpster diving on Fletcher. True story bros. I used to hog a table for hours studying for my Finance, Accounting and Economic mid terms during my college days. Their menu consisted only of coffee, smoothies and sandwiches. Fast forward to 2k13. Now you got folks with their mac books hogging up the tables. These folks doing hip things like writing screenplays or editing pictures of their dog so they can post it on their blog. Their menu has grown too. They serve eggs and other hot items now. Times have changed I tell ya. I still come here every now and then to grab a coffee and a Jalapeno bagel with cream cheese. Still as good as it was back in the day. ahh memories.

Came here to wind down after a fun jog around the Reservoir. The one thing immediately different here than other Silverlake spots is the available parking lot, so if parking frustration in this area has got you down, give this place a shot because you already have better odds. Now we move on to butt parking. There was a time when the place reached near capacity. Mind you, it's a mid-day Saturday and a bit chilly out. There is a 2 tiered outdoor patio, which would be perfect on a sunny day. They do a good job of separating the patio from the sidewalk with some shrubbery. I didn't get the overly friendliness that most of the people mentioned here, but I did feel that I was an outsider in a room full of regulars. There was a point where I felt my drink was forgotten since about 3 people that ordered after me already got their drinks and I was the only one left standing at the bar, but I'm just going to attribute this to that Iced Vanilla Latte's takes a bit longer than hot drinks to come out. -=- Iced Vanilla Latte -=- It was sweet, it was refreshing. I really should have tried a hot coffee here, but I trying to cool down. You can't really go wrong with the Iced Vanilla Latte here. I'll have to try the hot latte next time.

I love this place. It's a great place to write or spend a lazy day. Great coffee, great atmosphere, good food. The baristas are knowledgeable and friendly people. They got a stamp card so you get a free drink every time you get 12 coffees (which happens pretty often with me!). Free wi-fi. Plenty of seating. Free two hour parking and plenty of street parking if you plan to stay longer. The only thing I dislike is that when the chairs move they scrape on the concrete floor and it makes a screeching noise. But other than that, it's perfect.

Always looking for a spot to work out of and this place has the room and free wifi to do it. Drink of choice, mocha, and its pretty good here. So they get the 2 stars. They don't earn the next 3 stars because of their customer service. The lack of interest for the customer is incredible. Of course I don't leave tip and the guy taking the order kinda gives me the stink eye. Ja! Best revenge, never come back. This place is not worth it. For mocha lovers, hit up Intelligentsia its the best!

*free parking in the back *the bathroom is not locked and tells you so *the coffee is decent *the customer service peaks at hello *sign outside says open til 9pm but some customers were told 8...others not *many people came to the door, looked in and changed their mind..I sadly did not :( *the cleaning solution to clean the tables smells incredible *the music was the best I've ever experienced.

Both outside and inside are nice spots for working. The feel is chilled and easy going. The barista people are not super professional but friendly and trying. I think the owner is not treating the place very well, as they are constantly short of staff.

Free wifi and free parking?!? Eegats! Looking for a place to finish off my day of work after a lunch meeting in Slake, when all of a sudden the coffee shop heavens opened up and led me to this little stomping ground for laptop luggers of all shapes and sizes! This place is clearly frequented by regulars (clearly, since that is how they're defined), as everyone in the place seemed perfectly comfortable like they treat it as their second home. The inside tables are a bit too close together for my taste, but why not get to know your neighbor? Oh, and did I mention I was starvation nation?!? I ordered one of their simple paninis, the vegetarian one. It included mustard, mozzarella, avocado, and some other things but those three ingredients are what I remember leaving a lasting impression. Which is aok in my food book, because those are elements that make any meal. Essentially I could have made the sandwich at my house, but let's face it, it tends to taste a million times better if someone makes it for you. it was sizable (I could have saved the other half for later) and included a nice spring salad and handful of baby carrots. I also ordered an iced coffee, and was thrilled to see they had agave syrup on the "mixing" table, but no liquid dairy option?!? I don't know if I just caught them at a moment when they were refreshing them, but essentially for me, since I need my coffee to be completely sugared up and watered down, it made the drink undrinkable. I was too lazy to inquire about the missing milk, so really it's my own fault! I would absolutely give Silverlake Coffee another go the next time I am in the hipsty hood!

It's simple. You like a quiet place with reliable wi-fi, beverages at reasonable prices, nice size outdoor seating and true character from the adjacent hill that hasn't been polished and fluffed within an inch of it's life? Then this is where you go! The staff has always been friendly. Have a great selection of eats. And even though it may get crowded it's never loud, nor does it feel like a library. Looking to impress your mom... may need to reconsider, unless you are enough and she appreciates your keen eye for a well priced chi latte.

Ambiance: Casual? more like Ambiance: hipster, hahaha I love this hipstertastic coffee shop because it's the perfect setting to bring your laptop and get some work done. There is a good amount of seating indoors and also on the patio, which, by the way, have plugs too! When I was here, I had 3 hours to kill while waiting for my BF to finish his interview. I grabbed a delicious drink ( they have a really good variety of teas, and I mean real tea, not the overly sweet American sweet teas) and read a book on the patio. Over time, I overheard some hipster-fashionista guy complaining about his waiter job and some dudes talking about their script/movie pitch. This is Silverlake so everyone is writing a script or ...something :P. Definitely very fashionable artsy type of crowd here. This place also serves food. They have simple things like sandwiches, but they look pretty good and the price seems good too.

Meh. The coffee is not above average, and the service can be nice-to-downright-prickly. Because it's a thirty-second drive from my place, on rough mornings, it's easy to pop in here and get a coffee and get to work. It's always got lots of people sitting in here and working. You can bring dogs on the patio. They have some breakfast sandwiches that take a few minutes to make. But for the service and the total average to below average coffee taste, it's gotta stay just an emergency staple for me.

Big enough parking spaces, free wifi, pretty good and nice selections of tea and coffee, outdoor and indoor seating area with water for pets, nice spot for killing some time reading books or get the things done on your laptop.

Delightful. A very nice change from the chainstores. Good kitchen (if sometimes they get a little mixed up). They have a great, mellow attitude here and if you can't pick up on that, maybe you should try decaf. My omelette was very tasty -- veggies plus meats. I was satisfied and barely needed the toast. They goofed up and gave my order to someone else who must have been either unconscious or unscrupulous. Because we ordered completely different things and yet the guy still started chowing on mine before the proper distribution got figured out. So the weasel got two breakfasts, while I got a sincere apology and a nice Chocolate Chip cookie for my troubles. Good coffee, too. Nice place to work for a few hours.

Decent tea selection and you're allowed to open the canister to check the aroma. There are lots of small tables inside but all of them are occupied by laptops. Bad coz there's no space for you to eat. Good coz I feel like there's a place for me to go to where I could whip out the computer and I don't have to be paranoid and ashamed. 'There are a couple of computers available for use inside too. There is outdoor seating. Nice artwork on the walls. I was not embarassed to take my little sister here. Plus!!! The people behind the counter were all smiles, patient and very friendly without being exuberant. I need to learn this trick! The Silverlake Scramble didn't wow but definitely warmed up my cold empty tummy. I thought it was supposed to have avaocados in it. Must have been mistaken. Bottomline, food is 3-star, everything else is 5 star.

(3)Heinrich Z.
(3)Emma N.

(4)Abby A.
(5)Joe G.
One staff member was very friendly and helpful. The other was icy cold and didn't even respond to my greeting.
(3)Marina M.

(5)Richard D.

(In the style of Alina) My iced coffee Was warmer than Your "soul" And the months you led me on But it was creamy And we put our hoodies Over our heads To block out our "Neighbors" And be "alone" One more time Before you fuxked me over Because you're young and dumb

(3)Diana D.
Cute spot, Free Wi-fi and decent coffee. Nice outdoor seating.
(3)Cam M.
Food and coffee here are pretty standard. The service is a major turn off. I prefer to support small businesses and would usually pick this place over Starbucks just down the street but it's really not worth being treated so badly. Especially first thing in the morning. Come on. Hire new counter girls. These ones suck.
(2)Kristin K.
(4)Randy W.
Not bad food, coffee a bit pricey. Workers didn't seem too interested in being there, not very friendly, looking at their phones the whole time.
(3)Meghan R.
(3)Teresa G.
(5)Liza N.
super pleasantly surprised by the food here!
(5)Amy A.
(3)Jim H.
I love you.
(4)Ian C.
(4)Gerald T.
Great coffee and their omelettes are delicious, definitely my go to breakfast spot
(4)Tajamika P.
Coffee, great. Baristas, great. Table service, great. Outlet access, even better. Please triple please consider changing the hard core music. I start writing and it turns into a suicide note.
(4)Corina P.
(3)Josh C.
(5)Emily J.
(4)Kelly S.
WHOAH!!! extremely disappointing. really slow service (after 10 mins waiting for my drink the "barista" declared, "oops i made it, but i forgot it in the blender with zero apology). it was an espresso banana smoothie, or was it? there was no coffee or espresso of any kind in it. i guess they forgot that part. basically it was expensive chocolate milk in a plastic cup that i had to wait way to long for. my friend & husband faired even worse. they both ordered vanilla lattes in ceramic mugs. the first one came in a paper cup & had big black chunks floating on top. hmmm? maybe it was a fluke? the second one came in an enormous coffee mug that had a homemade label on it that said 24 oz cup. the outside bottom of his mug was covered in crusty coffee grinds & the drink itself tasted like chocolate. so, so bad people. how does anyone put up with this place? the pastry case had random things inside like a costco bought pumpkin pie with the costco price tag still on it & a plastic cambro full of eggs. what is this? someone's personal fridge or the display case of a business? absolutely will not return under any circumstances. so sad that this couldn't be another option among the good eastside coffee joints.

(4)Melon A.
The food and drinks are overpriced and they're not that great. I once ordered an english muffin sandwich with egg whites and ham and it ended up costing about $5. I can make that at home for pennies! The service isn't that great either. Most of the baristas have the Silver Lake Hipster bad attitude.
(2)Dave P.
(4)Sanjeet A.
(4)Avi M.
(1)Scott R.
(4)Ty C.
Probably the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had! WiFi chammomile tea, ultra cool service, love this place, too bad I'm not a neighbor - I would be there every day for breakfast!
(5)Brittany K.
(3)jules s.
wooot i love it here. it's like my home away from home. really. i spend a lot of time here writing papers and studying. if you're there early enough, get the breakfast burrito (they stop serving them at 1:30pm). they're super delicious. good coffee and lattes, fair prices, free wifi, ample workspace, beautiful patio with accessible outlets. there's really nothing negative to say. - well... it can get crowded at times so you have to strategically plan your arrival around the 'rush' time.
(5)Jenna C.
Expensive. No almond milk. VERY cold inside. (temperature wise) Nice staff. Probably won't be back.

(4)Andrew D.
Laid back and easy, this is the most convenient coffee shop in this part of Silver Lake/Echo Park.
(4)Lindsay A.
The great thing about this coffee shop is the parking lot! Hard to come by in the area. The coffee is good but it is hard to find a seat at times.
(4)Jesse G.
This place is rad. My wife makes me get her hot chocolate from here because she doesn't like hot chocolate from anywhere else in the world. They also have funny drawings by the cash register.
(5)Christine K.
This place rocks!!!! Free Wi-Fi, Free parking, Outside seating, Bookstore next door, and great drinks! It makes me want to bring the apple laptop I don't have and just sit there and look cool like everyone else. Larry is the bestest! ^_^
(5)Jon R.
Cool shop, decent Americano. First time in Silverlake, so a good place to check out the scene. Loving that it's not a chain coffee shop, this place felt a lot more comfortable to just hang out in. Baristas were super chill as well. Mad hipster, but I recommend!
(4)Alyxandra D.

Wow. Fuck Starbucks.

I live here. It's my living room/office, as well as my primary source of internet access; thus, it would be imprudent of me to give it less than 5 stars. Near my sleeping quarters, I make it a point of walking over. There have been days, when I'm grading papers or prepping, when I've spent 8 hours here. (I say "here," because that's where I am right now.) In any case, the perfect neighborhood Café. No frills, no pretense; but good quality all around. Clean, efficient, staffed by über-friendly folks. Pleasantly dark inside during the day, brighter in the evenings. Outside seating for smokers. They make it a point of providing plenty of ashtrays. Important for me. Good diverse Silver Lake crowd: students, writers, academics, actors, musicians, etc. Since my laptop's been running out of battery juice, I wake up early in the morning just to get a good seat. In the relevant sense, a "good seat" means one near a working socket. Big recommend: get the KBBQ Panini. It's the best Philly's Cheesesteak in LA. No shit! The Chinese chicken salad is also good. So are the scrambled eggs: they make it a little runny, which is the way they ought to be done.
(5)Priscilla H.
Came with my cousin because my friend was raving and just got a job here I must say this is a awesome cafe the music is epic and the food Jesus I've died and Gone to panini heaven! Good little place hidden in silverlake with an awesome outside patio! Great for summer weather!
(4)Moxie P.
Nice place, decent prices, friendly staff. Pro community in that they allow postings of local neighborhood fare in order to "get the word out." Decent parking too.
(3)Sally G.
Can we say yum to a hot chai latte??
(3)J L.
so it's a good place to study, but be sure to bring your earphones. it gets loud (music and employee gossip) i give it stars because i get things done here and they have food if i'm hungry. i TOOK STARS AWAY because im sitting here watching people hungrily waiting for their sandwiches while the employees are gossiping and taking their sweet time to make the food. some of them are great, but some of them need to get back to work.

(5)Silverake G.
Cool coffee shop with good coffee. Used to go here often when I lived in Silverlake. Would spend the day there getting some work done. The parking lot out back is a definite plus. Try out some of their food items too.
(4)Sunny C.
Pros: awesome iced vanilla latte. Cons: limited seating. Took me awhile to find a table. Outdoor area is nice but few people were smoking. Overall nice place to hang out to read, surf, study or just zone out.
(3)Olivia R.
The double latte and carrot cake are a great way to start my Sunday morning.
(4)courtney k.
(5)Hovik H.
(4)smriti k.

Great chair. Friendly staff

(4)Laura J.
(3)Felicia A.
(4)Joseph W.
Great!
(4)Mary A.
Iced nonfat chai latte. Get it? Good!
(5)marc s.
Best coffee shop in LA. It feels like home. Great baristas. Great indoor and outdoor patio space. Very cool people hanging out. If there was a coffee shop in heaven it would be called Silverlake Coffee.
(5)Nicole P.
Lovely.
(4)Greg D.

The end.

ALL THE ESSENTIALS: Free wifi, PARKING, outlets, PARKING, good food/drinks, PARKING, great prices, cute baristas. DID I MENTION PARKING?!!!
(5)Christina M.
ahh I want to live in Silverlake so desperately.

(1)Chris O.
(5)Sam N.
(4)Bubba N.
This place was great!! Just moved to the area and needed my coffee fix fast! Great setup! Got a simple coffee and bagel and still was fantastic. Definitely will be coming back often!

(1)Kristen C.
(3)Leah H.
Don't come here for food. The menu sucks and so does the food. With all the cafes in the area... I would never come back here.
(2)Anna B.

(4)Jeremy S.
Nice local coffee shop. I really like their Mojito Iced Tea (I think it's just a mint green tea). They have free wifi, prices are reasonable, and a nice front patio area. Too bad they close at 9pm.
(4)Moni F.
(4)Kate C.
(4)Neil B.
If you like queuing for coffee in the dark, and then discovering that there's nowhere to sit because the same 25 people and their laptops occupy every damn table every damn day, come here.
(1)Travis P.
(5)mike a.
This is a nice establishment with food, friendly service, and a good space. I'm only marking it down because it's often very busy, and if you want to work there you'll find yourself sitting in a row with 5 other laptoppers sitting shoulder-to-shoulder. Not ideal for most kinds of work.
(3)Mihrdat Y.
Good place to relax and get some work done in the process. Food and snacks are suited for a place like this. May get more packed throughout the day but even more quaint at night
(5)Sally m.
Great coffee, good prices. Lots of vegan treats (if that's your bag). I'd rather go here then Intellegensiawhatever any day. Thank you for staying so real.
(5)Shannon D.
Love this place. Good Food Good Coffee Good People. since they killed my favorite little coffee and breakfast place last summer (R.I.P Backdoor cafe) this is my NEW favorite place!! croissant and cheese sandwich is the best!!
(5)Taylor B.
Their lattes are really yummy. I've always been a Starbucks addict but this place has converted me. Plus I like being able to support a local business instead. I like that they have free wi-fi and there is always a place to sit. Their food is good but can be pricey.
(4)Erik L.
Coffee's decent, they're always brewing new stuff. Parking's super easy but then it always in these parts. But dude, I've been here twice and each time the barrista has hit skip on their music thing when it's been playing a song I was way in to. There ARE bands other than The Strokes.
(4)Joey L.
(4)Elena S.

(5)Lorraine L.
Looking forward to checking out the new pastries! Seriously, this cafe is pretty good. Just not a good place for me (personally) to get some work done, but I'd stop by for some joe and a pastry! Thanks for the feedback Lawrence. :)
(3)Maia L.
I go here sometimes because its nearby but its not the best coffee shop I've been to.
(3)Mortimer G.

-Great coffee (check!) -Chocolate cake was awesome -Great wi-fi -Plenty of outdoor seating -Bohemian Atmosphere(although not trying to be) -Clean restroom

(4)Tim Q.

(4)Fourty F.
(4)sue m.
I've been meaning to give a quick review for a while, because this place has fantastic lattes, sandwiches, and sweets. Super friendly!
(5)Paul R.
Don't come here. Really. I'm working, sipping a nice iced coffee. It's good, we're all good. It's crowded, lively, but not heaving. There's a Starbucks right down the road. So go there. Don't come here.
(5)Ferdinand M.

Yay!
(4)Jennie P.
(4)Jon W.
(5)Fergella B.
Eh. I dunno.. boy was it dirty in there. Spilled coffee and empty sugar packets all over the place. Every empty table outside was covered with dirty dishes and ashtrays. Maybe they were short-staffed and I showed up at the wrong time, but I don't think I'll be going back to give them another try.
(2)Sarah F.
(4)jenna b.
(4)Sarah N.
(4)Judy T.
I had a bad experience here, but the owner took the time to explain and apologize to me. Therefore I retract my review and do another one next time.
(3)Scott S.
I found this place to be exactly what I expected - a decent coffee shop. Good coffee, good food, good prices, a decent amount of outdoor seating, and clientel trying to be so not cool - they're totally cool. I liked it.
(4)Ellen H.
(4)Demian W.
(4)Anna O.
(5)liza s.
This place has THE BEST banana espresso smoothies!
(5)Cosmo J.
(2)A B.

(4)Myesha G.
outlets outdoors, dog friendly patio, dog water dishes, good salads, AWESOME home fries. its a keeper

(4)F K.
alright, i've been back a couple more times and have to give this place one more star. the service has been great both times i've been back, as has the coffee. today i tried the korean bbq panini, and it was awesome. i'll be back for that again for sure. the side salad was also good... a nice mix of greens (with no iceberg lettuce in sight) plus some carrots, tomatoes, and onions. balsamic dressing was good too, and it's nice that it comes on the side by default.
(4)Chy L.
(4)Toni P.
(5)Leslie C.
(4)Lizzie S.
(5)Paul S.
(4)Carolyn S.
Mom and pop coffee houses rule! Good coffee, chill vibe, vegan friendly food, I dig it ; )

because at the end of the day, my clothes come from target, i'm not carrying a copy of last year's pulitzer prize-winning fiction, and i don't ride a vintage bicycle up and down the near vertical hills of the neighborhood. yup, definitely not la material and never will be... 10:00am, saturday morning. i have just hopelessly navigated the local farmer's market, wandered aimlessly up and down the neighboring streets, heart rate and blood pressure slightly elevated from the recent encounter with a shady monetary exchange. i am subconsciously scouting out an oasis from the silver lake scene...when come silver lake coffee. the first sign that should have screamed olive-branch-in-dove's-mouth was the parking...lots of it. in an actual lot, mind you... i could feel a change in the air as i stepped in, though it was your typical la coffeehouse: small, eclectic, cave-like. yet surprisingly homey...like a burger joint long-converted to café. i scanned the pastry display - minimal traces of vegan/raw/hipster environmentally-friendly/space food...nope...you could even buy a bag of potato chips o.O i ordered a cup of coffee and half a vegetarian sandwich. both were much needed. and delicious. the customer service was also memorable: friendly, approachable, and tip-worthy :) a handful of laptop-preoccupied patrons scattered the café. quiet. nostalgic. a pleasant breather for the la incompetent... a review in five words? five stars. for effortless effort.

This is the best iced coffee in LA. SLC's mixed iced coffee is always a good decision (so is their espresso banana smoothie). The food is yummy too. The staff is friendly. The music is always enjoyable. AND free wifi. You can't go wrong. :)
(5)erin m.
i love this place...specially since i used to work at starbucks for years!! its the total opposite. cool music, laid back atmosphere, and pretty great soy lattes. they have buy 10 get one free stamp cards, a nice big patio out front, and the staff is friendly :)
(5)Ryan T.
(5)Cindy H.
(2)Jonathan H.
K go here too often to not give it 5 stars. While not necessarily a 5 star cup of coffee, they make solid espresso drink, and are a fun place to hang and work. Lots of good people watching, I wish I still lived nearby.
(5)Alice Y.
this unassuming little joint doesn't look like much from outside. sure, a nice patio and free parking but i can get that at most cafes i love-to-hate (ehem...sbux). but u walk in and it's dark, there is free wi-fi, black and white photographs set against a maroon painted wall...their chalkboard actually looks like someone wrote on it and that sbux didn't just send a fake with instructions on how to put it up. the coffee is good, 7 of 9 people have macs (so i'm an apple snob, sue me), and i don't feel rushed, i feel relaxed. no blog post, just a statement. find me here. mymodernmet.com
(5)Joaquin R.
I hope you're not in a rush!
(3)Lucie B.
(4)jamie c.
this place doesnt have amazing drinks or food and it doesnt insinuate that it does. people here keep to themselves and its just an unpretentious coffee shop where you can get pastries and sandwiches that are kinda bad/mediocre/whatever and you can get drinks that are pretty decent. its usually full of individual students on laptops and who will tolerate your talking but move when another table opens, but the outside area is big. FYI ive been scalded by the hot water from the bathroom sink like 5x
(5)Anonymous P.
(2)Shereen R.
Looove it.
(5)Larry K.
(5)Joanne S.
i love it here! it's cute inside and there are lots of outdoor spots with wifi. i like their bagels and the coffee is good. very friendly environment, places to park.
(4)Melanie C.
Three stars because that describes the quality of the coffee. Not awful, but certainly not good. That pretty much sums it up.
(3)Jenn B.
great iced coffee. always fast. i think i had a brekie sandwich here once that was fine. this is within viewing distance of the starbucks on glendale and fletcher, so i don't know why anyone would opt for that when this local joint is right down the road. and frankly better.
(4)Lauren B.
(4)H H.
nothing special. it's not bad, but i don't need to come here for anything.
(2)Nobod E.
(2)Emm C.
did some reading here for a change of scenery and it was perfect a bit annoyed a smoker's ashes got into my cappucino as we were sitting in the tiered tables and he was above me -but that wasn't the cafe's fault.
(4)Yun Yun W.
The only complaint I have is that it is too busy too often. Otherwise they have free wi-fi and they play great indie music! Try the ginseng tea, it's pretty good!
(3)Danny G.
This is a chill place to come on early mornings with your coffee and laptop. They have free wifi and the coffee is cool. Beats going to the library.
(4)Kali D.
In fairness I only have the mint tea while I'm here. The wifi is free, it's true, and there is ample seating, even on a weekend afternoon - but with about 30 people on the same connection - it's slow. And the bookstore next store is now closed. Boo.
(3)Joe G.
(4)Oliver W.
(4)Rachelle A.
(4)Adrian C.
(4)Sarah M.
This place is a gem in Silverlake. Appropriately priced coffee, friendly staff, fast service, great food, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, tons of outlets, free wifi, and a non-pretentious environment. Skip Dinosaur and Intelliwhatever and come here instead.
(5)Emily P.
(4)Yumiko K.
(4)Amanda L.
The coffee is good if you don't mind waiting for twice as long as Starbucks . Also, getting a bagel takes forever . For some reason people are taking sh*ts in this bathroom non-stop. Always a line. Full of hipster douchebags, but you can't really hold that against the place .
(3)A.J. S.
(2)Amanda H.
(3)Micki B.
(3)Jesse C.
Bathroom review: Funny paintings. Clean enough. Yay breakfast burrito! Mostly stable wifi. Possibly the only coffee shop in los Angeles with a parking lot.
(5)Joshua F.
(5)Katelyn B.
(5)Benjamin G.
Awesome coffee shop and Café. I had the Veggie burrito and it was banging. The coffee was really solid too, I had the light roast. Friendly staff and a really cute outside patio. Perfect for a lackadaisical morning.
(4)Y N.
(2)Ben B.
Love this place! I've been coming here for years, and it has never disappointed. I know the whole staff and every one is super nice. Great food and drinks. Everything you'd want out of your neighborhood cafe! Hey, Larry! :-) :-):-)
(5)Margaret D.
(3)Josh M.
(4)Jon M.
My first time here and I goof'd up ordering but Adrian and Eli totally took care of me and made me feel welcome like a regular. With the chill atmosphere, good eats and the great staff, I will be here often. Nice job, guys!
(5)Monique P.
(5)Swaroop R.
Awesome place to hole up and get some work done. Food is good but not great. Their bagels/bagel sandwiches will get the job done.
(4)Tala J.
I would give zero if it was possible, it is an absolutely awful place with horrible tea and pastry. On top of it all extremely rude manager. Don't waist your money.
(1)Jennifer O.
(3)Raja B.
Cute place with lots of veggie options and nice atmosphere. I really like the out door patio and their tea selection. Its. A great place ti study and hunker down.
(4)Julia L.
(5)R. E.
Such a cute spot to get a bite and some coffee! They have a huge selection of yummy syrups to add to your coffee. :)
(5)Vivek P.
A good place to stop by. Excellent service and above average snacks and drinks. Panini was good and coffee was great.
(4)Drew C.
The bagels have improved! Since my last post Silverlake coffee stepped it up and I haven't had a poorly crafted bagel in a long time. Good job guys!
(4)Whitney V.
(5)Sam S.
The coffee is bomb, the patio is LA, the decor isn't the best but the independent atmosphere makes up for that in spades! Bring a book, or some work, and you can enjoy it for hours!
(5)Jackie P.
(5)Andre D.
Great coffee, great sandwiches and great atmosphere. Friendly staff and nice clientele. If you like good coffee, you'll appreciate these guys.
(4)Jordan M.
(1)Anna M.
Cute little coffee shop in Silverlake. Best of all, ample parking, friendly service, and plenty of tables with outlets, if you're there to study or do some work. Typical eclectic Silverlake crowd. A+
(5)Gail E.
(3)Jeremy M.
(2)Momo O.
(4)Eddie S.
Would have given 5 but the fact you cannot substitute your meals are kind of off putting especially if you have certain allergens to some foods. Other than great vibe good taste
(4)Kaitlin H.
Great coffee, great space, great location. I enjoy the double iced vanilla with non-fat milk. There's lots of place to sit/work inside and out. There's also a large parking lot and street parking. It's located by fun bars, shops and restaurants in Silverlake, which makes it a convenient location.
(5)Luis R.
(5)Jonathan B.
normally serviceable w good bagel. today waited twenty five minutes and turned out they forgot my bagel and espresso. i understand "@&))& happens but still lame. Also i would avoid the drip coffee -- its substandard....
(2)Mike R.
My spot!! I don't get the food much although I seldom buy a breakfast plate and it's delicious and filling enough. THE COFFEE is the best! Staff is kind, very approachable!
(5)Kenneth H.
(5)Downtownbaby T.
(3)EZ PZ L.
(5)Melissa D.
Wowwww the coffee here is so good. It's also a great place to grab a breakfast bagel when you're in a rush ... But really, come here for the delicious coffee
(4)Emily S.
Excellent study location with ample seating, access to outlets and free wifi. Delicious lattes and iced tea. I've had breakfast here (huge breakfast burritos!!) and lunch (tuna sandwich on a toasted croissant. Great food, delicious coffee, and big enough to study with friends.

(1)Steve O.
Mixed Iced Coffee. Every time I'm in LA, I come here for it. It's the best iced coffee I've ever had. The best. The staff are great, the breakfast is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed.
(5)Mister W.
(4)Lilian T.

(2)L. B.

(4)Dean E.

(5)Judith G.
Their food is good, I had Korean BBQ wrap it was okay. I like the spot because they have WiFi and I can go and relax for hours to get away and do my work. I will probably be back again.
(4)Jamie E.
this is my go-to in silver lake when i want to study or read and have a good coffee while i'm at it. there's a private parking lot, but i usually walk there with my dog and sit outside. there are plenty of outside tables and i never have trouble finding a seat. there are also plenty of tables inside and outlets to juice up. they make every coffee imaginable. free unlimited wifi. nice, friendly staff. fast service. food: they offer breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, desserts and cookies. all fresh! i usually get the breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage and a caramel iced latte with whipped cream. they even have a card to reward repeat customers! great, laidback, convenient place to sit and work, sit and chat, or sit and stare. it's less pretentious and way more affordable than la mill down the street.

(4)Tommy R.

(3)Josh C.

(5)Douglas L.
(2)Blu M.
(2)Sabine R.

(3)Sam E.

(4)Lydia Effie C.
(2)Ben C.
Big enough parking spaces, free wifi, pretty good and nice selections of tea and coffee, outdoor and indoor seating area with water for pets, nice spot for killing some time reading books or get the things done on your laptop.
(4)James S.
(4)Kislev A.
